Kibale Lodge

Kibale Lodge opened in July 2024 as Volcanoes Safaris’ fifth property. Set on a 150-acre (61-ha) ridge at 1,430 m (4,692 ft), it overlooks the Rwenzori Mountains, Queen Elizabeth plains and Kazinga Channel. Hand-built by regional artisans, the lodge features gardens with 200,000 indigenous seedlings. It celebrates Batooro traditions, including the presentation of an ampaako, a traditional name of respect. The lodge also supports local education, conservation and arts initiatives.

Rooms & Suites
Eight hand-built bandas include four Deluxe and four Standard units, each with a private terrace overlooking the mountains or Fort Portal hills. Each category has three double-bed bandas and one twin. All feature fans, power outlets, charging facilities, hairdryers, Wi-Fi and en-suite bathrooms with double vanities, flushing toilets, and indoor and outdoor hot-water showers. There is no air conditioning.

Hotel Amenities & Facilities
Full-board meals feature locally inspired dishes, including traditional Batooro cuisine. Soft drinks and regular and premium alcoholic beverages are included, except French champagne. The Kibale Forest Spa has two double massage rooms, a sauna and swimming pool, with complimentary massages subject to availability. Guests receive personal butler service and complimentary laundry. Wi-Fi is available in the main lodge. Children are welcome, but childcare is not provided. Exclusive-use bookings are available.
