Located in the heart of a new up and coming neighborhood, Barrio Literario, Esplendor Hotel Montevideo was once the residence of important historical characters, such as Julio Cortazar who wrote “The Condemned Door” which is inspired by a room of the old hotel. The building has been completely refurbished into this beautiful boutique hotel, yet maintaining its distinctive and historical facade. Each room has been remodeling with both innovative design technics and comfort in mind. The old Cervantes Theater has also been completely remodeled and is now used as ballroom for the hotel.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
