Chiawa Camp was the first camp to settle along the banks of the Zambezi River in Lower Zambezi National Park, and it remains family owned and operated. In the Soli language, Chiawa means "the one who shares." The camp runs a gentle, unhurried program on land and water, and the surrounding park is home to elephant, lion, leopard, and hippo. All Safari Tents were rebuilt in 2020, with furniture and hanging lampshades made by local craftsmen. The kitchen buys produce from Zambezi Harvest, a village farmer cooperative, at fair-trade prices, and the executive chef sources seasonal ingredients from local markets. Chiawa holds Climate Positive certification and partners with Conservation Lower Zambezi.

Tents
Accommodation is in large tented units that face the Zambezi River. There is no air conditioning. The tents are cooled by electric or overhead fans, and beds have mosquito nets. Units have international plug points, and the camp provides Wi-Fi. Bathrooms have ball and claw baths, his and hers washbasins, and both indoor and outdoor showers. Tents I to VI have canvas roofs, and Tents VII and VIII have thatched roofs.

Amenities & Facilities
Breakfast is served as light bites and pastries around the morning fire, with grab-and-go options for early departures. Lunch features seasonal salads and daily specials, and dinner is four courses with plant-based options available. Snacks are provided during activities. Meals are also served in other settings through the stay, including bush barbecues, traditional Zambian dinners, and barge lunches on the Zambezi, and the kitchen caters to dietary requirements. The camp has a communal swimming pool and Wi-Fi.
