Stay in the heart of Omo Valley, considered the ‘cradle of humanity’ at the Eco-Omo Safari Lodge in Jinka. The twenty safari style tent structures are located just outside of Jinka on the way to Mago National Park. Each permanent style ‘tent’ offers en-suite toilet, common shower facility, mosquito netting, and either twin beds or double bed. Electricity is available 24 hours a day with a backup generator.
The lodge offers a full bar, wifi in the restaurant, and television in the lounge area. Cultural dances from the Ari and Mursi village on request are also available and a campfire area allows for occasional evening entertainment. The restaurant serves buffet style breakfast, a la carte menu for lunch, and menu or buffet style dinners with predominantly Italian and international cuisine with many home-grown ingredients.
The trip might have been the absolute best of our lifetime (thus far). We particularly want to commend our guide Peter in the Guilin area-he was so incredibly attentive, energetic, enthusiastic-and absolutely dedicated to ensuring that our meals were 100% vegetarian.
