Day 1: Aswan | Embark

Arrive on your 5-star deluxe Nile cruise boat, where you will be welcomed by the reception staff. Lunch will be served on board. After lunch, take a ride on a felucca (a typical Egyptian sail boat) around Elephantine Island, Lord Kitchener’s Botanical Gardens, and the Agha Khan Mausoleum (weather permitting, life jackets will be provided). Afternoon tea will be served in the lounge. In the evening, you will be greeted by your Boat Manager for a cocktail reception, who will review your cruise program for the upcoming days. Enjoy local Egyptian wine and beer, as well as a selection of canapés, followed by a gourmet dinner.

Day 2: Philae Temple and Unfinished Obelisk

A breakfast buffet will be served on board, followed by a short motorboat ride to visit the romantic and majestic Philae Temple on the Island of Agilika. This will be followed by a visit to the Granite Quarries, which supplied the ancient Egyptians with most of the hard stone used in pyramids and temples, and still hold a huge unfinished obelisk. Enjoy lunch, while you cruise to Kom Ombo. Spend the afternoon at leisure to enjoy the facilities on board, including the pool, games room and gymnasium. Afternoon tea will be served while you cruise to Edfu. Enjoy an Egyptian buffet menu for tonight’s dinner with the chance for guests to dress up in traditional Egyptian “galabeyya”.

Day 3: Temple of Hours

Enjoy breakfast on board this morning, before exploring the extraordinary Temple of Horus. Return to your boat. Lunch will be served while sailing to Esna. Take time to enjoy the facilities on board, including the pool, games room and gymnasium. Continue sailing to Luxor, while having your afternoon tea. A gourmet dinner will be served on board.

Day 4: The Valley of the Kings and Queens

Breakfast is served on board and you have the morning at leisure whilst sailing to Luxor. Visit the West Bank of Luxor where you can enjoy lunch. Explore the Valley of the Kings, a vast City of the Dead where magnificent tombs were carved into the desert rocks, richly decorated, and filled with treasures for the afterlife by generations of Pharaohs. Visit at least one tomb in the Valley of the Queens and visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. On the way back to the Nile River, pass by the famed Colossi of Memnon, known in Ancient Greek times for their haunting voices at dawn. Afternoon tea and dinner are served on board. Tonight’s dinner is a gourmet meal (jacket required).

Day 5: East Bank | Temple of Karnak

Enjoy breakfast on board. Spend the morning at leisure and enjoy the facilities on board, including the pool, games room and gymnasium. A delicious lunch will be served on board. This afternoon, visit the Temple of Karnak, built over more than a thousand years by generations of Pharaohs. The great “Hypostyle Hall” is an incredible forest of giant pillars, covering an area larger than the whole of Notre Dame Cathedral. Next your Egyptologist will guide you around the East Bank of Luxor, including the strikingly graceful Temple of Luxor dedicated to the god Amun. Afternoon tea will be served in the lounge. In the evening, you will be greeted by your Boat Manager for a cocktail reception, who will review your cruise program for the upcoming days. Enjoy local Egyptian wine and beer, as well as a selection of canapés, followed by a gourmet dinner. Enjoy a belly dancer performance and a whirling dervish show.

Day 6: Sail to Esna

A breakfast buffet will be served on board. Enjoy this morning at leisure and make use of the five-star facilities on board your luxury Nile cruise boat. Lunch and afternoon tea will be served in the lounge while you cruise to Esna, where we’ll moor for the night. A gourmet dinner will be served on board.

Day 7: Temple of Khanum

Breakfast will be served on board. This morning, your Egyptologist will guide you around the Greco- Roman Temple of Khnum at Esna. The beautifully preserved Great Hypostyle Hall was built during the reign of the Roman Emperor Claudius; it was excavated from the silt that had accumulated through centuries of annual Nile floods and is about nine meters below present-day street level. Continue to enjoy your cruise onward to Edfu, while enjoying your lunch. Afternoon tea will be served in the lounge. You will also have the chance to take part in an Egyptian cooking lesson, as you continue cruising to Kom Ombo. Enjoy a Egyptian buffet menu for tonight’s dinner with the chance for guests to dress up in traditional Egyptian “galabeyya”.

Day 8: Temple of Kom Ombo

A breakfast buffet will be served on board, followed by a morning visit the Temple of Kom Ombo - dedicated to the crocodile-god Sobek. The temple stands at a bend in the Nile where, in ancient times, sacred crocodiles basked in the sun on the riverbank. Return to the boat and enjoy your cruise to Aswan. Lunch will be served on board.Enjoy your afternoon tea in the lounge. Tonight’s dinner will be a gala dinner, with white-gloved waiters serving gourmet cuisine.

Day 9: Aswan | Disembark
