The Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve's buffer zone, the Sapote River, can be reached by skiffing through its tributaries. Witness some of the world's most incredible wildlife, including many kinds of primates, hundreds of unusual birds, and even groups of pink and gray dolphins.

You’ll be picked up at the airport and brought to the DoubleTree by Hilton Iquitos hotel where you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch before being transferred by private vehicle to the main dock of the city of Iquitos to board the cruise ship.
The staff will show you to your suite, which will be equipped with comfortable beds, 100% Peruvian Pima cotton sheets, cotton bathrobes, air conditioning, and a private bathroom with a shower and amenities.
Day 2: Amazon River | Kukama Reserve | Source of the Amazon | Marañón River | Puerto Prado Community | Nauta Creek
Before breakfast, go out for a boating expedition on the Amazon River to explore the local flora and fauna.
When you get back, enjoy your breakfast buffet, which offers a daily selection of traditional dishes, Peruvian specialties, freshly baked goods, and a range of freshly squeezed juices
After breakfast, head out to see the confluence of the Ucayali and Marañon rivers, which give rise to the Amazon River. Here, observe pink and gray river dolphins.
Day 3: Yanayacu of Pucate | Japanese Lagoon | Yanayaquillo | San Regis | Amazonian Natural Park
Breakfast and outing on a skiff to different lakes and lagoons, until we reach the Japanese Lagoon. There, enjoy a picnic and one of the best conserved and protected areas of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. It’s also a popular spot to view pink river dolphins from the skiff.
Before heading back to the Zafiro, take a trip to the Yanaquillo.
Breakfast and visit the community of San Regis, where you'll learn about the local people’s way of life and traditions.
Learn about their ancestral traditions from the community’s shaman. With your guides as interpreters, you will be able to ask questions about spiritual connections and curing the soul.
Day 5: Marañón River > Nauta > Disembarkation > Iquitos

Before breakfast, visit Nauta, the second most important city in the region. Upon arriving, take a motorcycle taxi to the local market where you'll see what business in the city is like firsthand.
Visit the Sapi Sapi Lagoon, an arapaima hatchery. This is the second-largest freshwater fish in the world. Discover a new habitat, surrounded by fruit trees. Also, see Arrau turtles, butterflies, and different species of birds and fish that call this lagoon home.

The itineraries are subject to change due to weather conditions at certain times of the year. The water levels of the rivers also vary from time to time, as well as the hours of sailing. Excursions may be modified at the discretion of the Zafiro crew.

Tipping guidelines. We recommend an amount in the range of US $20 – $30 per passenger per night for the crew (to be divided among all the crew members) and between US $7 –$10 per passenger per night for the guides.
Travel Insurance - Mandatory insurance minimum coverage of $ 30,000 for any eventuality is required.
