Activity options vary depending on destination and operator. Activity level is determined by the range and intensity of activities you choose to participate in. Discuss with your Trip Planner which options are best for you.
Begin your adventure in Iquitos, a lively riverside city surrounded by dense jungle. Meet the team at the airport and travel comfortably by private vehicle to Nauta, enjoying a packed lunch along the way as you enter the Amazon region.
Arrive in Nauta, one of the oldest towns in Loreto, and board the Delfin vessel at a private port. Settle into your suite designed with local materials, soft fabrics, and a private terrace overlooking the river.
As the ship moves along the Marañón River, head to the observation lounge for a briefing from a naturalist guide about the route, wildlife, and key highlights of the trip.
At dusk, board a skiff for your first river excursion. Watch herons, monkeys, and sloths in the trees as the light fades. After dark, look for caimans, owls, and other nocturnal animals moving through the forest. Experience the Amazon’s transition from day to night and observe its thriving wildlife up close.
Start the morning with the sounds of the rainforest as the sun rises over Las Palmas, a prime location for birdwatching. See macaws, toucans, and other native species flying through the treetops, filling the forest with movement and sound.
Continue to the Amazon Natural Park and walk forest trails with a local guide. Learn about medicinal plants that have been used for centuries and take part in a traditional ceremony led by a shaman, offering insight into the region’s deep cultural and spiritual traditions.
In the afternoon, explore the Yanayacu River by kayak or paddleboard. Move through calm lagoons, swim near pink river dolphins, and try piranha fishing along the shoreline. During low water season, stop at natural Amazonian sandbanks and experience a mineral-rich mud treatment directly from the riverbed.
As night approaches, head out on a skiff for a safari along the Pucate River. Use spotlights to find caimans, owls, and other nocturnal wildlife moving under the moonlight, revealing a different side of the Amazon after dark.
Begin your day with a trail walk through Fundo Casual, a winding path that invites you deep into the rainforest’s heart. With every step, discover the intricate life that thrives beneath the canopy—colorful frogs, curious insects, and medicinal plants, all guided by the expert naturalists. Along the way, visit a local community and connect with the people who call the Amazon home. Learn about their traditions, daily life, and the deep bond they share with the jungle.
In the afternoon, witness one of the Amazon’s most breathtaking natural wonders: the Confluence of the Rivers. At the Union de los Ríos, watch as the dark waters of the Ucayali and the lighter currents of the Marañón meet to form the mighty Amazon River. A place of power and beauty, this sacred union is a reminder of the constant flow and transformation of life in the rainforest.

This was my first experience with Adventure Life - and I couldn't have been more pleased with the trip. The guides and local staff in both Buenos Aires and Uruguay were terrific - extremely helpful and accommodating. I really enjoyed meeting the friendly staff in Buenos Aires in person (I left my bags with them for the afternoon).
