Day 1: Arrival to Iquitos| Transfer to Nauta | Embarkation

Begin in Iquitos, a lively city surrounded by rainforest and rivers. Meet the crew at the airport and travel comfortably by private vehicle to Nauta. Enjoy a packed lunch along the way before reaching one of Loreto’s oldest towns.

Board the Delfin vessel at the private embarkation port and settle into your suite, designed with local materials, natural fabrics, and a private terrace overlooking the river.

As the vessel moves along the Marañón River, meet the naturalist guide in the observation lounge for an introduction to the region’s wildlife, history, and landscapes. At dusk, board a skiff for the first excursion. Watch herons, monkeys, and sloths along the riverbanks as the daylight fades.

After dark, explore again to spot caimans, owls, and other nocturnal animals under the Amazon’s star-filled sky.

Day 2: Amazon Natural Park | Yanayacu Pucate

Wake early to the sounds of the rainforest and head to Las Palmas, a prime area for birdwatching. As daylight spreads, see macaws, toucans, and other native birds move across the canopy.

Later, visit the Amazon Natural Park to walk forest trails and learn about medicinal plants long used by local communities. End the walk by joining a Shamana Ceremony led by Carola, a respected healer who shares traditional Amazon practices.

In the afternoon, explore the Yanayacu River by kayak or paddleboard, passing lagoons and watching for pink river dolphins. During the low-water season, stop along hidden beaches for a natural mud treatment from the riverbed.

After sunset, continue with a guided night safari on the Pucate River to observe caimans, owls, and other nocturnal animals active under the moonlight.

Day 3: Shiriyacu | Fundo Casual

In the morning, you’ll set off by skiff to explore the serene waters of the Marañón River. The journey will take you to Shiriyacu, a prime location for birdwatching. With a bit of luck, you may spot herons, kingfishers, hawks, and many other vibrant species that fill the Amazon skies with color and song. In the afternoon, return to land for a guided walk through Fundo Casual. Along a forest trail surrounded by lush vegetation, you’ll uncover the intricate beauty of the rainforest—from tiny frogs and medicinal plants to towering ancient trees. With insights from the expert naturalists, every step reveals a new wonder of the jungle.

Day 4: Yarapa River | Confluence

Begin your final day with an early morning skiff exploration along the Yarapa River, a peaceful and biodiverse tributary teeming with life. Try your hand at piranha fishing, a thrilling tradition in the Amazon, as you glide past mirrored waters and the forest’s gentle stirrings. In the afternoon, witness the breathtaking natural phenomenon at the Confluence—the sacred union where the Ucayali and Marañón Rivers merge to form the mighty Amazon River. It’s a place of power and beauty, symbolizing the endless flow of life in the rainforest. The journey continues with a visit to a local riverside community. Here, you'll have the opportunity to connect with the people of the Amazon, learn about their customs, and gain insight into a way of life deeply rooted in harmony with nature.

Day 5: Disembark | Bee Project and ARCOF | Transfer to Iquitos

  • 1 Breakfast
With warm hearts, the staff will bid you farewell as your journey comes to an end. At Nauta’s port, the team will escort you by private vehicle back to Iquitos, a scenic 95-kilometer drive. You’ll also visit the Amazon Research Center for Ornamental Fishes, where you can admire the Amazon’s vibrant aquatic life—from giant arapaima to colorful freshwater stingrays. This final stop offers a beautiful farewell to the region’s rich biodiversity. The team will assist with your luggage and check-in at Iquitos airport. At security, your guide and the Delfin crew will warmly say goodbye, hoping your Amazon journey leaves you with unforgettable memories.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
