Activity options vary depending on destination and operator. Activity level is determined by the range and intensity of activities you choose to participate in. Discuss with your Trip Planner which options are best for you.
Arrive in Iquitos, a lively city bordered by rivers and rainforest. Meet the local team at the airport and travel by private vehicle toward Nauta. Enjoy a packed lunch along the drive as you take in the first sights of the jungle.
In Nauta, one of Loreto’s oldest towns, board the Delfin vessel at the private port. Settle into your suite designed with regional craftsmanship and a private terrace overlooking the river. As the vessel moves along the Marañón River, join a naturalist in the observation lounge to learn about the region’s wildlife, culture, and environment.
At dusk, head out on your first skiff outing to spot herons, sloths, and monkeys along the riverbanks. When darkness falls, the rainforest comes alive. Search for caimans, owls, and other nocturnal animals beneath a sky full of stars—the Amazon after dark at its most vivid.
Wake up to the sounds of the rainforest as the sun rises. Start the day in Las Palmas, a prime area for birdwatching. Watch the treetops fill with movement as macaws, toucans, and other Amazon species fly overhead.
Continue to the Amazon Natural Park and walk through jungle paths with a naturalist guide. Learn about plants that local communities have used for medicine for generations. At the end of the walk, join a Shamana Ceremony led by Carola, a respected healer who shares traditional Amazon practices.
In the afternoon, explore the Yanayacu River by kayak or paddleboard through quiet lagoons. Swim near pink river dolphins or fish for piranhas along the shore. During the dry season, visit river beaches for a natural mud treatment. After sunset, take a night safari on the Pucate River to spot nocturnal wildlife moving through the dark forest.
Begin your day with a trail walk through Fundo Casual, a winding path that invites you deep into the rainforest’s heart. With every step, discover the intricate life that thrives beneath the canopy—colorful frogs, curious insects, and medicinal plants, all guided by the expert naturalists. Along the way, visit a local community and connect with the people who call the Amazon home. Learn about their traditions, daily life, and the deep bond they share with the jungle. In the afternoon, witness one of the Amazon’s most breathtaking natural wonders: the Confluence of the Rivers. At the Unión de los Ríos, watch as the dark waters of the Ucayali and the lighter currents of the Marañón meet to form the mighty Amazon River. A place of power and beauty, this sacred union is a reminder of the constant flow and transformation of life in the rainforest.
