Activity options vary depending on destination and operator. Activity level is determined by the range and intensity of activities you choose to participate in. Discuss with your Trip Planner which options are best for you.
Arrive in Iquitos, a busy river city surrounded by jungle and waterways. Meet your guide at the airport and travel by private vehicle toward Nauta, one of Loreto’s oldest towns. A prepared lunchbox keeps you refreshed along the way.
At the private port in Nauta, board your Delfin vessel and move into your suite, designed with local materials, woven details, natural fabrics, and a private terrace.
As the ship sails onto the Marañón River, gather in the observation lounge where a naturalist outlines the upcoming route, including wildlife, ecosystems, and regional history.
At dusk, join a skiff ride through the flooded forest. Watch monkeys climb through branches and colorful birds rest overhead. As night falls, search for caimans, owls, and other nocturnal species under the dark sky. This first excursion introduces you to the Amazon during high water, when the forest becomes a living, shifting habitat.
Start early and move through the Yanallpa zone with a guided outing along Belluda Caño between 6:00 and 8:00 a.m. Travel across still waterways as your guide explains the ecosystems of Pacaya Samiria National Reserve and how wildlife adapts to this environment.
In the afternoon, continue to Dorado River for deeper exploration. Paddle a kayak through flooded forest channels, observe surrounding vegetation, and listen to active wildlife across the riverbanks.
After dark, return to the Dorado River for a night excursion. Follow your naturalist to identify nocturnal species, including reptiles and birds, as they become active in low light conditions.
In the morning, begin your day on the Pacaya River, where breakfast is enjoyed surrounded by the calm and beauty of the rainforest as it awakens.
After breakfast, continue with a full-day exploration along the Pacaya River. This journey brings you deep into one of the most pristine regions of the reserve. Around midday, you will enjoy a special lunch at Casa Fujimori, a memorable pause in the heart of the Amazon. You will return to the vessel at approximately 2:30 p.m.
In the afternoon, relax onboard with a cultural experience designed to enrich your understanding of the region. Enjoy a screening of the documentary River of the Sun or join the “People of the Amazon” talk, where you’ll gain meaningful insight into the traditions, stories, and way of life of the communities who call the rainforest home.
Begin your morning exploring the Yarapa River, where the calm waters and awakening rainforest create the perfect setting for wildlife spotting. Continue toward the Confluence, where two powerful tributaries meet an inspiring moment that showcases the grandeur of the Amazon.
Later in the morning, visit a local riverside community, either Amazonas or San Francisco. Here, you’ll learn about daily life along the river, from long-held traditions to the close relationship families maintain with their natural surroundings.
In the afternoon, venture into Fundo Casual for a guided rainforest walk. As you move beneath the towering canopy, your naturalist will reveal the hidden wonders of the Amazon, from unique flora to the wildlife that thrives within this vibrant ecosystem.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.
