Activity options vary depending on destination and operator. Activity level is determined by the range and intensity of activities you choose to participate in. Discuss with your Trip Planner which options are best for you.
Arrive in Iquitos, a busy river city surrounded by jungle and waterways. Meet your guide at the airport and travel by private vehicle toward Nauta, one of Loreto’s oldest towns. A prepared lunchbox keeps you refreshed along the way.
At the private port in Nauta, board your Delfin vessel and move into your suite, designed with local materials, woven details, natural fabrics, and a private terrace.
As the ship sails onto the Marañón River, gather in the observation lounge where a naturalist outlines the upcoming route, including wildlife, ecosystems, and regional history.
At dusk, join a skiff ride through the flooded forest. Watch monkeys climb through branches and colorful birds rest overhead. As night falls, search for caimans, owls, and other nocturnal species under the dark sky. This first excursion introduces you to the Amazon during high water, when the forest becomes a living, shifting habitat.
Start the day exploring Amazon Natural Park on guided jungle paths. Learn how medicinal plants support local traditions and gain insight into their uses. Take part in a shaman-led ceremony that shares cultural practices tied to the rainforest.
In the afternoon, move onto the Yanayacu Pucate River. Paddle a kayak across calm, reflective waters while surrounded by flooded forest. Listen for bird calls, spot wildlife along the banks, and experience the Amazon from a unique water-level view.
In the morning, step into the rainforest at Fundo Casual for a guided trail walk. This area is home to towering ceiba trees, vibrant flora, and fascinating wildlife. As you walk under the forest canopy, your naturalist guide will reveal the ecological wonders and hidden stories of the Amazon.
In the afternoon, the calm waters of Nauta Caño invite you to try your hand at the traditional art of piranha fishing, surrounded by the symphony of the flooded forest. After dinner, return to Nauta Caño for a night safari, where the jungle transforms under starlight. Caimans, owls, and other nocturnal creatures emerge, offering a thrilling glimpse of the Amazon after dark.
Before breakfast, witness one of the Amazon’s most breathtaking sights: the Confluence of the Rivers, where the Ucayali and Marañón join to give birth to the mighty Amazon River. This natural wonder is a powerful reminder of the vastness and unity of the rainforest.
Later in the morning, visit the welcoming community of San José de Paranapura. Here, you’ll learn about daily life along the river, from traditions and crafts to the ways families live in harmony with their environment.
In the afternoon, set out on a skiff exploration of the Yarapa River. Its calm, winding waters are home to a wealth of wildlife, from playful monkeys to colorful birds. Each turn reveals a new glimpse of the thriving biodiversity that makes the Amazon so extraordinary.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
