Activity options vary depending on destination and operator. Activity level is determined by the range and intensity of activities you choose to participate in. Discuss with your Trip Planner which options are best for you.
Your adventure starts in Iquitos, a lively city surrounded by rivers and jungle. Meet the team at the airport and ride in comfort to Nauta in a private vehicle, enjoying a packed lunch on the way as you adjust to the rainforest environment.
Arrive in Nauta, one of Loreto’s oldest towns, and board the Delfin vessel at the private dock. Settle into your spacious suite designed with local materials, soft fabrics, and a private terrace offering jungle views.
As the ship begins sailing along the Marañón River, head to the observation lounge for a briefing from your naturalist guide about the route, the region’s wildlife, and daily activities.
At dusk, board a skiff for the first excursion through flooded forest areas. The high water brings you close to the canopy, where monkeys move through branches and bright birds rest nearby. As night falls, search for caimans, owls, and other nocturnal species under the stars. Experience the Amazon’s rich wildlife and quiet intensity up close.
Begin the morning exploring Las Palmas as the rainforest comes to life. Watch colorful birds fly overhead and see sloths resting in the trees, perfectly adapted to their jungle surroundings.
Continue to the Amazon Natural Park to learn about the forest’s traditional uses. Walk shaded trails lined with medicinal plants, then meet a local shaman for a cultural ceremony that highlights the region’s spiritual traditions.
In the afternoon, head to the Yanayacu River for outdoor activities. Paddle a kayak or stand-up paddleboard across calm waters, swim near pink river dolphins, and try piranha fishing with local guidance.
After dinner, join a night excursion on the Pucate River. Use spotlights to locate caimans, owls, and other nocturnal animals as they move through the darkness. Experience the rainforest’s active nighttime environment from the safety of your skiff.
Day 3: Fundo Casual | Community visit & Confluence
In the morning, venture along the Fundo Casual trail, where the rainforest reveals its secrets through towering trees, vibrant flora, and wildlife hidden in the canopy. Along the way, meet members of a local community whose traditions and daily life are deeply tied to the rhythms of the forest. Their knowledge and warmth create a meaningful connection between culture and nature.
In the afternoon, sail to the legendary confluence of the Amazon, known as the Unión de los Ríos. Here, the Marañón and Ucayali Rivers meet to form the mighty Amazon, one of the world’s greatest waterways. This awe-inspiring sight embodies the power and beauty of the rainforest, a moment to pause and feel the heartbeat of the jungle.
