We only feature three boats that visit this unique part of the austral world - the Ortelius, the Spirit of Enderby, and the Akademik Shokalskiy. Each of these boats is distinct, so deciding which one to book can shape your experience, but the itineraries that visit the Ross Sea are all at least 30 days, so plan accordingly. The Akademik Shokalskiy & the Spirit of Enderby are sister research vessels, so the accommodations, while comfortable, are not quite luxurious; they're great options if you're hoping to spend a lot of time ashore exploring the flora & fauna of the polar region, including penguins, seals, and whales. The Ortelius is a step higher but still not luxurious as far as expedition vessels go, featuring international cuisine, an open bridge, comfortable staterooms, & even a sauna to warm up after a cold day.
