This full-day excursion lets you see two unique Patagonia attractions. Find out more about the Rio La Leona, one of the most beautiful rivers in the Patagonian grassland, and the Los Hornos Mount. Paddle or trek across this natural region to see the contrasting ocher steppe and turquoise glacial rivers. Pass petrified trees and bones of Los Hornos Mount to learn about Patagonian geography.

Pick-up time is at 7:30 AM and drop-off at 4:30 PM. The El Calafate airport transfer can also be arranged. The excursion includes a snack and a box lunch.

Day 1: Rio La Leona Kayak & Trekking

This full-day tour allows you to discover two unique attractions in Patagonia. Explore Rio La Leona, one of the most scenic rivers in the Patagonian steppe, as well as Los Hornos Mount, one of the oldest formations in the world! Take in the contrasting sights of the ocher steppe with the turquoise glacial waters as you paddle and hike through this wild landscape. Witness the beginnings of Patagonian geography as you pass by petrified trees and bones of Los Hornos Mount. This is a day trip that truly gives unique experiences to add to your Patagonia travels. 

Travelers will be picked up at their hotel around 7:30 AM and dropped off around 4:30 PM. Transfers from/to the El Calafate airport can also be arranged. A snack and a box lunch will be included during the excursion. 

Distance of kayaking: 8.5 miles (14 km)
Distance of hike: 3 miles (5 km). Approximately 2 hours.
