As the Argentine capital of trekking, El Chaltén offers various opportunities for hiking, climbing, walking, or riding amidst the breathtaking natural landscapes. Day 1: Cerro Madsen

  • 1 Lunch
A private transfer will pick you up from your hotel in El Chaltén and take you to the start of the walk at Rio Electrico. The journey will first take you to the Poincenot camp, where you will cross the Blanco River and then begin your ascent to the renowned Laguna de los Tres, which offers a stunning viewpoint of Fitz Roy and Cerro Madsen to the right.

Depending on the time of year and the condition of the mountain, you may encounter varying amounts of snow as you make your ascent. It's important to have the right equipment, and the guide can provide assistance with ropes if necessary. At the peak, you'll be treated to a breathtaking view of the Fitz Roy Range. On the way back to El Chalten, you'll also be able to enjoy the picturesque scenery of Capri Lagoon.

Distance: 24 km (15 miles)
Walking time approx: 13 hours approx.
Height gain: 1400 m (4593 ft)
Difficulty: Difficult. Requires trekking experience.
Suggested equipment: Waterproof high-top trekking shoes, waterproof clothing, and coats/gloves.
