The tour begins at Punta Banderas port, navigating Lake Argentino's north arm towards the Upsala Glacier's front wall. Upon arrival at Estancia Cristina, board a 4x4 vehicle to ascend the Feruglio Cordon, followed by a 20-minute hike on glacial erosion terrain to reach the Upsala Glacier Viewpoint. After taking in the stunning view, return to the ranch by 4x4. After lunch, explore the museum and old shearing shed, and go on a guided walk to the Caterina River, waterwheel, and Chapel.

Day 1: Estancia Cristina

  • 1 Lunch
The approximate time of pickup is 7:30 AM. The tour begins at the port of Punta Banderas and navigates the north arm of Lake Argentino until you reach the allowed limit of navigation in the canal. Enjoy the panoramic view of the front wall of the Upsala Glacier.

Once you disembark at Estancia Cristina, hop on a 4x4 vehicle and ascend the Feruglio Cordon to the starting point of a 20-minute hike on glacial erosion terrain. This leads you to the Upsala Glacier Viewpoint, where you can admire the view of Lake Guillermo, the imposing Eastern front of the Upsala Glacier, and the Southern Patagonian Continental Ice Field.

Afterward, resume the hike and return to the ranch in the 4x4 vehicles. Here, you have lunch and then have the opportunity to visit the museum and old shearing shed to learn about the history of the pioneer family of the place. Additionally, a guided walk to the Caterina River, the waterwheel, the Chapel, and the hull of the ranch is provided.
