Day 1: Arrive Estancia El Ombu | The El Gaucho Life

Transfer from a hotel in Buenos Aires.

Spend today immersing yourself in the life of a working ranch. Observe and take part in various stock-rearing activities with the mainly Hereford and Angus cattle on the ranch. Witness or participate in milking, cattle drives, ear-tagging, and branding - all the day to day activities that a working hacienda performs. Explore the 300 acre property on foot, by bike, or on a horse with a seasoned gaucho at your side. A golf and tennis country club offers optional activity nearby. You can also visit San Antonio de Areco, a picturesque pampas pueblo with a small Gaucho museum, silversmiths, wood workshops, and a little chocolate factory. The day is free to spend as you like.

Other activities available at special request are folk dances and horse-back skills events such as sortija races, lassoing, and hog-tying.

Day 2: Return Buenos Aires

  • 1 Breakfast
Return to Buenos Aires mid-morning.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.
