Day 1: Cafayate Full Day Tour

Today, drive along the fertile Lerma Valley, passing towns like Cerrillos, La Merced, El Carril, and Coronel Moldes en route to Cafayate. This is region is an important tobacco-growing area, as you see along the road. Along Las Conchas Gorge, you can view the bizarre shapes of rock formations like The Monk, The Toad, The Natural Theatre, The Devil’s Throat, and The Castle, All created by wind and water erosion. Upon your arrival in Cafayate, see a picturesque village famous for its vineyards. Spend time exploring the city and the local handicraft market. In the afternoon, return to Salta through Las Conchas Gorge, stopping at Posta de las Cabras, an inn well known for its goat cheese.
