Depart this morning for the balconies of El Calafate. Once at the balcony chairlift, ascend 350 meters to the top. At about 990 meters above sea level, meet your guides and drivers. Enjoy the sights of steppes and travel to heights of 1050 meters above sea level, where you will be amazed by the diversity of the vegetation. Your first stop is a natural viewpoint from where you can view the sights of El Calafate and the central body of the Argentine lake and the Andes mountain range. You can also see the accumulation of the glaciers, towards Boca Del Diablo (Devils mouth). If it is a clear and sunny day, you may be able to see Mt Fitz Roy and Mt Torre in El Chalten. As you continue to ascend, arrive at el Laberinto de Piedras: a formation of the Cretaceous period of 85 million years ago. Once a river, today you can find fossils that take you back in time.

This was my first experience with Adventure Life - and I couldn't have been more pleased with the trip. The guides and local staff in both Buenos Aires and Uruguay were terrific - extremely helpful and accommodating. I really enjoyed meeting the friendly staff in Buenos Aires in person (I left my bags with them for the afternoon).
