Arctic Watch is Canada's most northerly wilderness lodge, located on Somerset Island, Nunavut. A visit to Arctic Watch is an all-encompassing arctic safari. Visitors see thousands of beluga whales, roaming musk oxen, polar bears, arctic foxes, snowy owls, archeological sites and more.
The lodge features a main complex housing a kitchen, dining room, lounge, gear room and shower house. Arctic Watch features 16 private cabins, which are equipped with warm duvets. The cabins are set in an outback silence so profound it will lull you into the deepest sleep. The lodge can accommodate up to 20 guests plus staff. The gourmet food, served daily, is direct from
Josee’s Kitchen and is hearty, tasty and appropriate for the environment.
The trip might have been the absolute best of our lifetime (thus far). We particularly want to commend our guide Peter in the Guilin area-he was so incredibly attentive, energetic, enthusiastic-and absolutely dedicated to ensuring that our meals were 100% vegetarian.
