Day 1: Arrived in Klahoose Wilderness Resort

Depart from Lund Harbour at 3:00 PM aboard the covered water taxi for a scenic journey through Desolation Sound to Klahoose Wilderness Resort.

At Klahoose Wilderness Resort, you are greeted on land with a traditional welcome according to a long-standing custom. Hospitality is extended with care, ensuring you feel nourished and comfortable throughout your stay. At the same time, the stories, images, place names, and language will be shared here, carry deep meaning, and belong to the cultural interpreters and the qaymɩxʷ community. During this traditional welcome and protocol, guests are asked to pause, think, and respect the sacred principles.

After the traditional welcome, a resort orientation is followed by a welcome drink. Light snacks will be available before dinner. Dinner will be a set menu, followed by a briefing on the next day’s activities and an evening of cultural sharing, which may include storytelling, wood carving, and cedar weaving.

Day 2: Discover the Wildlife

After breakfast, gather at the dock for a half-day boat tour to explore the area’s marine life and natural beauty. Admire the ancient pictographs, watch for humpback whales, and enjoy the breathtaking Yekwamen (Toba Inlet) waterfalls.

In the afternoon, enjoy the resort's amenities, including kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, the wood-fired sauna, or ocean swimming. Enjoy social hour with snacks before dinner, followed by another evening of cultural connections and conversation

Day 3: Ahpokum and Cultural Immersion

After breakfast, step aboard for a boat trip to Ahpokum (Forbes Bay), a seasonal village site for the Klahoose people. Here, engage in storytelling and share lunch. Take the opportunity to participate in a traditional cultural river bathing experience, or observe. For the return journey, you may choose to come back by boat or opt for a kayaking adventure.

The afternoon is free for you to relax and enjoy the resort’s offerings. Later, gather for social hour, followed by a set dinner and an evening of cultural sharing.

Day 4: Enjoy the Resort

After a leisurely breakfast, the day is yours to fully embrace the peaceful surroundings of Klahoose Wilderness Resort. Take your time discovering all that the resort has to offer. You may choose to relax by the waterfront, paddle along the tranquil coastline in a kayak, or venture on a hike through the lush forests. The wood-fired sauna is available for a rejuvenating experience, or you may opt for a refreshing swim in the ocean.

For those seeking a deeper connection with nature or more activity, consider a short nature hike or a longer walk to a grove of old-growth trees. Enjoy quiet moments of reflection or explore the resort’s sustainable micro-hydro system. Today, any optional tours can also be taken into consideration, such as fishing charters with certified fishing guides in their boats and helicopter trips to the neighboring coastal mountains.

In the evening, join for a golden hour gathering, where guests can come together, share stories, and reflect on their experiences before enjoying a final dinner followed by an evening of cultural sharing, including a cedar-brushing off and smudging ceremony.
