Scenic Azure was custom-built for Portugal's Douro River sailing. With only 96 passengers on board, guests enjoy an all-inclusive luxury experience. Since its inception in 2016, Scenic Azure has set a new standard in luxury river travel with its intimate and calm ambiance and safe, comfortable journey atop the beautiful waters of the Douro.

The Scenic Azure riverboat is shorter than the other ships in the Scenic Space-Ship fleet to navigate Portugal's meandering river and its many locks. Still, what it lacks in length, it more than compensates for innovative features and advanced levels of luxury. The yacht has 48 cabins and a crew-to-guest ratio of 1:2, ensuring that you receive truly personalized treatment. Each cabin is exquisitely designed to provide the ultimate in luxury and comfort, and the majority include a sun lounge to make the most of the Portuguese sunshine. These luxurious suites are spread across four decks and are accompanied by a variety of public lounges, entertainment rooms, and eating places, giving you the flexibility to explore the ship, meet new people, or top off your tan on the all-weather Sun Deck.

Onboard Amenities

Onboard entertainment options highlight the areas you're visiting. Develop a greater understanding and sense of place by attending musical concerts, natural history lectures, and artisan demonstrations. Take advantage of the ship's vitality pool or wellness center, including a workout area, a beauty salon, and massage rooms, for a soothing respite. Your all-inclusive cruise includes complimentary Wi-Fi.

Each Scenic Azure route is accompanied by one of the ship's English-speaking local guides. Each stateroom is equipped with two GPS handheld devices equipped with headphones that broadcast the tour — you can hear your guide from a distance of 25 feet.

Scenic Azure does not have the amazing electric bikes available onboard other Scenic ships. Portuguese two-lane roads are simply too unsafe for bicycles because of the steep grades and numerous tight hairpin curves.

Scenic Azure Dining

Despite the Scenic Azure's small size, there are six dining options, including room service. All onboard meals and beverages are provided during your voyage on the Scenic Azure, including beer, wine, and premium spirits. For your meals, you'll find a variety of eating alternatives to satisfy any palate or culinary mood.

The casual River Café serves light meals, snacks, and beverages from breakfast to late afternoon. Crystal Dining, the primary dining location with open seating, serves a diverse choice of cuisines à la carte, from regional specialties to a seafood gala evening.
Additionally, the line offers a five-course menu in a luxurious wine cellar at Italian-inspired Portobellos Restaurant, complete with a fado performance. Additionally, when the ship arrives in Salamanca, Spain, guests are treated to a tapas lunch and flamenco performance.

This was my first experience with Adventure Life - and I couldn't have been more pleased with the trip.
