Day 1: Ingapirca

  • 1 Lunch
This day tour out of Cuenca takes you north to the fortress of Ingapirca, a major pre-colonial Inca site that dates back to the 15th century. Thought to have originally been built by the Canaris, this site was attacked by the Incas who then lived side by with the native Canaris in the city. Tour the ruins and visit the museum to learn more about the history of Ingapirca. Enjoy a local lunch and then visit the Biblian Sanctuary, home to the beautiful Virgen del Rocio Church. Depending on the day of the week, you will also have the chance to visit either the weavers of Biblian or one of the local markets. Return to Cuenca around 4:00 PM.

This tour is approximately 7 hours and runs daily.

Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Sat: Visit the weavers of Biblian. Friday and Sunday: Visit a local market

This was my first experience with Adventure Life - and I couldn't have been more pleased with the trip. We have had excellent results when working with Adventure Life. We've just set up out third trip with them because the first two were great! Adventure Life has always listened, worked with us, and set up trips the way we've wanted. They've also found experiences we wouldn't have known about otherwise, that have been some of the highlights of the entire trip.
