Day 1: Civitavecchia (Rome) | Embark

Civitavecchia is a major seaport that serves as the maritime gateway to Rome, Italy’s capital. Strategically located on the Tyrrhenian Sea, it is a central hub for Mediterranean cruises and ferry routes. The port lies approximately 70 km from Rome and 62 km from Fiumicino Airport.

Day 2: Sorrento, Italy

Sorrento, with its city walls rising directly from the sea, is perched along the scenic Amalfi Coast and offers sweeping views of the Bay of Naples. Optional excursions may include a visit to Pompeii, where the preserved ruins reveal daily life frozen by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.

Day 3: Amalfi, Italy

During the Middle Ages, Amalfi was a powerful republic of 70,000 people, rivalling nearby Ravello. For a sense of Amalfi's medieval glory, wander through the grand Duomo, containing the remains of St. Andrew. Amalfi is a magnificent coastal town offering an enchanting blend of natural beauty, rich history and Mediterranean charm.

Day 4: Taormina, Sicily

Barreling under full sail through the narrow Strait of Messina past Scylla and Charybdis, where rock and whirlpool almost claimed Ulysses, you arrive in lovely Taormina. Perched on the shoulder of Mt. Etna, Taormina inspired Goethe to say that 'It is the greatest work of art and nature.'

Day 5: Lipari, Italy | Sailing Past Stromboli

The Aeolian archipelago is made up of 7 islands of volcanic origin, of which only Stromboli and Vulcano are still active volcanoes. The main island is Lipari, which offers travellers arriving by boat a beautiful panorama of its Acropolis, presided over by the Cathedral. Its marina is bustling with shops, boutiques and stalls... it's an island where life is good.

Sail around Stromboli with the backdrop of it's famous active volcano which had its last major eruption in April 2019.

Day 6: Ponza | Palmarola, Italy

The pastel houses of Ponza Town rise in neat terraced rows from the busy harbor where sleekly groomed yachts and ramshackle fishing boats moor side by side. Happily, there are few tourists here, so it's a delight to wander through the unspoiled town.

Palmarola is a snorkelling heaven that is part of a group called The Pontine Islands, located off the coast between Rome and Naples. A craggy landscape with pink coral beaches and emerald coves beckons so don't forget your swimsuit and flippers. Totally unique, isolated and stunning.

Day 7: Civitavecchia, Rome, Italy | Disembark

  • 1 Breakfast
Disembark after breakfast and continue your independent trip back home.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
