Le Grand Pakbeng Resort

Le Grand Pakbeng sits on a hillside above the village of Pakbeng, overlooking the Mekong River and surrounding mountains. The property comprises 45 villas and suites, each with a private terrace, furnished with teak wood, Laos carvings, and local artwork. Construction began in 2011 and the resort opened to the public on 12 December 2018, founded by a Laos tourism professional with a background in hotel management. The owner's stated mission is to create jobs for the local community in this remote area of northern Laos and train residents to work in hospitality. Guests arriving by Mekong river cruise typically stop for one night, but the resort recommends a minimum stay of two nights to allow time to use the facilities and join local excursions before continuing by boat.
