Day 1: Arrive in Lilongwe, Malawi

Welcome to Malawi! Upon your arrival at Lilongwe International Airport, your guide will welcome you. After collecting your luggage, they will transfer you to Kumbali Country Lodge, located on the outskirts of Lilongwe's City center. You will spend the first night of your tour here.

Kumbali is the perfect Lilongwe stopover. With huge, comfortable rooms and excellent, wholesome home-grown food, you will completely forget you are in the capital city. The working farm provides some incredible food, headed by their well-experienced chef, who has made the kitchen a firm favorite among tourists and locals alike. Stretch your legs and explore the farm or take a dip in the pool. The staff goes to any lengths to make your stay a special one.

Day 2-4: Liwonde National Park

Today, your driver or guide will transfer you to Liwonde National Park. You will spend the next three nights of your tour at Mvuu Lodge, situated along the Shire River right within the park. You are in an excellent location to enjoy delicious meals and spectacular animal sightings during your game-viewing activities here.

Spend three nights on the Shire River exploring the conservation success that is Liwonde National Park on land and the river, from its thriving populations of black rhinos and cheetahs to the endless bird species. The perfect place to experience Malawi’s flourishing wildlife.

Additional motorized excursions can be booked directly at an additional cost.

Day 5-6: Lake Malawi National Park

It is time to relax and cool off now! After your morning activity, you will be transferred by boat to the Chalie Chalie meeting location to meet your driver and guide, who will transfer you to Cape Maclear. In Cape Maclear, you will catch a boat transfer to Mumbo Island Camp. You will stay here for two nights during your tour.

Mumbo Island is a 40-minute boat ride from the mainland. Allow it to transport you away from modern distractions, mobile devices, and your typical busy life. Instead, enjoy walks on the white sandy beach, a glass of good wine as the sun sets, and crystal clear blue water where you don’t even need a snorkel mask to see the fish! Take a good book or kayak around the island and enjoy the rustic nature of the island and the stunning views.

Additional motorized excursions can be booked directly at an additional cost.

Day 7-8: Lake Malawi National Park

Next on your adventure, you will head to Senga Bay. You will be transferred to Senga Bay for your boat transfer to Blue Zebra Island Lodge for a two-night stay.

The chalets are situated in a natural setting, where visitors can enjoy both luxury and nature. As part of the full-board package, guests are free to relax by the infinity pool, kayak among the islands, or play volleyball. The lodge also offers free use of snorkeling equipment to view the unique, colorful fish that gives the place its name and inhabit every inch of the coastline.

Additional motorized excursions can be booked directly at an additional cost.

Day 9: Lilongwe

After your great Lake Malawi safari, transfer back by boat to the mainland to meet your driver and guide. They will transfer you to Kumbali Country Lodge, where you will stay for one night of your tour before your journey to Zambia.

Day 10-13: Lilongwe | South Luangwa National Park, Zambia

Today, you will cross the border into Zambia. You will be traveling to Chikunto Safari Lodge, a classic Zambian Safari Lodge located in the animal-rich wilderness of South Luangwa National Park. You will spend the last four nights of your tour here.

The lodge has some incredible features that set it apart from others. Including a star bed and boating safaris during the green season, during which you can experience a unique perspective of the animals from the water. With huge luxury tents, a pool, a masseuse who kneads away any stresses from the comfort of your room, and some of the best food on safari, this is one for those looking for a bit of luxury in the wild.

Additional motorized excursions can be booked directly at an additional cost.
