Kulala, which means 'to sleep' on Oshiwambo, is the name sake of the lodge hidden at the foot of the imposing Sossusvlei dunes. A private entrance to Namib Naukluft Park makes Kulala Desert Lodge the closest location to Sossusvlei. Accommodations are made up of 23 thatched and canvas 'kulalas' each of which is built on a wooden platform creating a private terrace and has a deck on the flat rooftop where bedrolls are placed for guests to sleep under the countless stars on a Namibia tour. En-suite facilities house a sink, shower, and flush toilets.
Enjoy the main areas of camp which include lounge, bar, dining room, plunge pool, and a veranda that overlooks a watering hole. Kulala Desert Lodge is the ideal place to base a visit to the Sossusvlei Dunes.
