La Hacienda Cabana
Each 45 sqm cabaña offers a view of the forest or cocha and includes either two twin beds or one king bed, cotton sheets, two hypoallergenic pillows per guest, and a hypoallergenic comforter. Amenities include a mosquito net, curtains, cotton bathrobes, hot water, and natural essence toiletries. Cabañas also feature reading lights, a ceiling fan, and limited electricity.

Excursions and Activities

The lodge offers 10 excursions in either Spanish or English. Excursions may be classified according to duration: 1/4 day (1.5 - 2 hours), 1/2 day (4 - 6 hours), or 1 day (7 hours or more); difficulty level: easy (i), moderate (ii), or difficult (iii); or attractions.

CONCEPCION TRAILS
Walk through the trails inside Hacienda Concepcion. Learn about primary and secondary rainforests: components, uses, and transformations by humans, and its relevance for the world. Approximately a 2-hour walk.
Duration: ½ day. Difficulty level: I.

TWILIGHT RIVER
Cruise on the Madre de Dios river. Learn about river ecosystems, Amazon creeks, and the southern hemisphere sky. Approximately 2-hour cruise, depending on the weather and river conditions.

RAINFOREST BY NIGHT
Biological activity differs greatly between night and day in the Amazonian ecosystem. Venture into the forest and experience the mystery of the animal activity that awakens in the rainforest after dark, enhancing animal resources to create new adaptation mechanisms. Listen to nocturnal forest sounds and spot species that only emerge at night.

RIVER ISLAND
Visit the river island known as Rolin, a 10-minute transfer by boat. Walk through the island. Learn about the wetland ecosystem and vegetation succession. Birdwatching. Transfer to the lodge by boat. Approximately 3 hours.

BUTTERFLY HOUSE
Visit the Butterfly House. There are several of the 3,800 Peruvian species that are preserved and reproduced. Transfer by bus.

CLAY LICKS
Clay lick sighting. Walk 15 to 20 minutes toward one of Hacienda Concepcion's mammal clay licks. Interpretation of the clay lick activity: importance, need, and behavior. Learn about the difference in clay licks and their location. Return to the lodge.

GAMITANA FARM
Visit Gamitana's model farm. Take a 40-minute boat ride towards Gamitana Creek; then a 1.5-hour walk through the model farm. Learn about the importance of farm work as one of the primary economic activities in Madre de Dios. Fruit and crop tasting (depending on the season). Learn about the community projects of ITA - Inkaterra Association (NGO). Return to the lodge by boat.

CANOPY WALKWAY & ANACONDA WALK
Visit the interpretation center and walk through treetops and wetlands. 25-minute transfer by boat to the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway Interpretation Center to learn about its construction and the conservation projects of ITA - Inkaterra Association (NGO). Ascend the towers and cross the bridges that connect the treetops. Then take a 15-minute walk towards the anaconda walk wetlands. Learn about flooded ecosystems and observe fauna and flora. Return to the lodge by boat.
Duration: ½ Day. Difficulty level: II.

COCHA
Canoe ride on the Hacienda Concepcion's cocha. Flora and fauna sightings. Learn about the ecosystem environment. Enjoy native fishing and catch and release. Disembark at the remains of Fitzcarrald steamboat, and learn about its history. Return to the lodge. Approximately 4 hours.
Duration: ½ day. Difficulty level: II.

LAKE SANDOVAL
Navigation in a canoe around Lake Sandoval. Take a 50-minute walk towards the Tambopata National Reserve and a 20-minute walk through the terra firma forest. Learn about the reserve's environment, forest, and oxbow lake. Return to the lodge on foot. (Access may be limited to discretion during months of rain.)
Duration: ½ day. Difficulty level: II.
