Passengers are welcome to board on MS Camargue at 6:00 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, you will be introduced to your crew at a welcome cocktail. Tonight's dinner will be followed by an evening of entertainment.
Spend the morning on the Saône River. The afternoon will be spent touring the lovely Burgundy city of Beaune. Beaune is one of the key wine centers in France, and the annual wine auction of the Hospices de Beaune is the primary wine auction in the country. Recognized by its colorful, geometric-patterned tile roof, the 15th-century hospital is now the Hôtel-Dieu Museum, showcasing mas0terpieces like the polyptych altarpiece by Rogier van der Weyden known as "The Last Judgement". Visit the Hospices and enjoy a tasting of wine.
After your tour, return to the ship and enjoy an evening of entertainment. While you sleep, the ship will begin to cruise to Mâcon.
The ship will arrive in Mâcon early in the morning. After breakfast, you will leave on an excursion to the partial ruins of the Cluny Abbey. This former Benedictine monastery was built in the Romanesque style and was the world's largest church until the St. Peter's Basilica construction began in Rome. Founded by William I, Duke of Aquitaine, in 910 AD, the monastery was sacked and mostly destroyed during the French Revolution. Later, it was sold and used as a quarry. Today, just one of the original eight towers remains.
In the afternoon, leave on a guided tour of the Beaujolais Wine Route, passing by the prestigious Pouilly-Fuissé vineyards and the Roche de Solutré until you reach the Hameau DuBoeuf. This unique theme park incorporates the culture, history, science and passion involved in French winemaking.
After our tour, you will return to the ship and enjoy an evening of dancing. The ship will remain in port overnight.
After you arrived in Belleville, set out on an excursion to Beaujeu, the medieval capital of the Beaujolais. Wine lovers will be able to discover the 12 appellations of Beaujolais while listening to great music and admiring the fantastic scenery and quaint architecture of the tiny city. Put your senses to work and take part in the wine tasting competition! Later on, you'll enjoy a lovely soirée in the center of town including cabaret entertainment and fantastic food concocted by one of the best chefs in the region. At midnight, set off on a torch-lit stroll to welcome Beaujolais Nouveau Day and watch a fireworks show. Following the festive evening, return to the ship. Stay in port overnight.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!

The trip was not only memorable for the amount of animals we saw but also for the people and accommodations at the two camps where we stayed. Our first guide, BK, was a wealth of information about the animals, landscape and down to the plants and what they were used for. Everyday out was a learning experience with him. All the people at the camps were gracious and the food was excellent.
Our second camp in the Okavanga was just as good as the first as far as the staff, accommodations, food and animals. After our experience at the first camp we amazed that the high quality remained the same. Our guide, G, made sure we were able to enjoy every experience including a rush through the bush to witness a cheetah and an ensuing hunt that he heard over his radio.
In both camps there were enough guides out that if they saw something the other guides were informed which helped in seeing as much as possible. It was also nice that the concessions were large enough that we did not have vehicles following each other throughout the day.
Normally there is always something in a trip of this length that we think could be improved upon but this is the rare case where we cannot think of anything. From the time we left the States to when we returned it was one of the most hassle free vacations we took.
Perhaps emphasizing the use of the laundry facilities at the camps would be useful because of the luggage restrictions would be the only thing I can think of as an improvement to future clients.
