This 8-day South Pacific cruise is perfect for those who want a core Polynesian experience. In 1891, when Paul Gauguin arrived in Tahiti, he captured the charm, culture, and languid grace of the natives in oils. You won't find his paintings here, but the original models still call this piece of French Polynesia home. Explore Raiatea and its reef-bound lagoon and Taha'a, its companion island, where you can enjoy a full day of exploration. Then sail to Bora Bora and her siren sister, Moorea. There's a reason these islands are world-renowned: their beauty is unmatched.
Highlights
Spend a relaxing day on Motu Mahana, your very own private islet.
Explore Bora Bora on a drive safari, aquabike excursion, or boat ride
Visit Moorea and partake in an optional dolphin-watching expedition.
Disembark in and explore Tahiti's capital city of Papeete.
The islands of Polynesia are a gorgeous collection of volcanic atolls strewn across the grand Pacific Ocean, and the island of Tahiti is the largest of all 118. Explore the dynamic dining, nightlife, and shopping in the capital city of Papeete before embarking on The Gauguin.
Known as “The Garden Island,” Huahine’s lush rainforests and dramatic terrain surround sacred sites and legendary landmarks that are among the best-preserved archaeological sites in French Polynesia. If Huahine’s expansive lagoon is calling your name, enjoy a SCUBA diving excursion or picnic on the beach.
Embark on your choice of exciting shore excursions today, or spend your whole day relaxing on Motu Mahana, a private islet. Enjoy swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking, or simply lounge on the beach with a chilled beverage from the floating bar. Les Gauguines is on hand to provide musical entertainment and demonstrate traditional Polynesian crafts. A delicious barbecue lunch is provided.
A bucket list destination for many, stunning Bora Bora welcomes you for two full days of exploring lush peaks, white-sand beaches, colorful coral reefs, and romantic lagoons. Experience the natural beauty of the island with an optional snorkeling excursion, sunset jetboat ride, or a helicopter tour that flies you over Bora Bora’s iconic Mount Otemanu. You can also spend time at a private beach which offers volleyball, snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding.
Vibrant colors abound during two leisurely days in Moorea, in everything from fresh fruits and flowers to multi-hued lagoons, and from spectacular mountain peaks to palm-fringed beaches. Shop for local handicrafts, embark on an optional dolphin-watching expedition with a marine biologist, and sample the local pineapples, said to be the most delicious in all of French Polynesia.
Explore more of this peaceful oasis. Perhaps choose to trek on the “Trails of the Ancients” or snorkel one of the world's most beautiful lagoons. At the end of the afternoon, cruise to your home port in Papeete, docking for the night.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
