Day 2-4: Chem Chem Concession | Tarangire National Park
Enjoy a delicious breakfast with scenic views of Mount Meru, then check out and head towards Little Chem Chem, your next destination. Little Chem Chem is located between Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks, and it protects over 20,000 hectares of Tanzanian wildlife. It is home to herds of elephants, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, impalas, and over 400 different bird species. The camp has a few luxury vintage tents overlooking the peaceful Lake Burunge.
Upon arrival, go on a game drive on open-air safari vehicles and immerse yourself in the wilderness as you watch animals roam through the unfenced territory of the camp. You may see elephants walking towards the lake to drink water and cheetahs hunting on the plains. Relax and enjoy a vintage safari experience as you settle in for the night.
On the next day, continue immersing yourself in the authentic East African Safari across the camp's territory and facilities.
On your third and final day at Chem Chem, start the morning early and get ready to visit Tarangire National Park. Recognized as the 6th largest park in Tanzania and covering an area of 2,600 square kilometers, Tarangire is renowned for its diverse bird life and as a haven for large elephant herds and other wildlife, especially during the dry season when the Tarangire River is the only source of water. This is also the only place in Tanzania where you can spot dry-country antelopes like oryx and gerenuk during the season. Don't miss the opportunity to see the ancient baobab trees, also known as the Tree of Life, scattered around the park, a rare sight to end your authentic African safari experience. Be prepared to leave this sanctuary before embarking on your next adventure tomorrow.
Day 5-6: Karatu | Lake Manyara National Park | Ngorongoro Crater
You depart with a packed lunch today for a morning game drive to Lake Manyara National Park after checking out of Little Chem Chem. The Lake Manyara National Park offers breathtaking views and a wide range of habitats supporting a variety of wildlife. You explore the park which is home to more than 400 different bird species and has the highest population of baboons in the world. You may see giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas, waterbuck, warthogs, the Cape clawless otter, and Egyptian mongooses among other species. The park also boasts a stunning landscape with acacia woodlands, forests, baobab-dotted cliffs, algae-streaked hot springs, swamps, and the lake itself.
You will leave the park today and drive 2.5 hours through the Rift escarpment to your lodge with a view of the Ngorongoro Forest. You'll stop at a local school along the way. As the sun sets, you arrive at Gibb's farm and have time to relax with a hot or cold coffee while taking in the beautiful scenery. The historic organic farm and family coffee plantation covers over 80 hectares of the Ngorongoro Crater's forested outer slopes and serves as a sanctuary for your senses. You settle into your room and enjoy a delicious farm-to-table meal made with fresh, organic ingredients to end the day. It's a much-needed break from your busy first half of the adventure.
Today, you'll wake up early and enjoy a breakfast drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You'll take a tour of the world's largest intact volcanic crater, starting from the bottom and working your way up, before heading back to Karatu. Be prepared for your early checkout tomorrow morning.
You will meet your driver at the front desk after breakfast and check out. You will have a short drive to the Manyara Airstrip, bid farewell to your driver guide, and board a scheduled bus to the Grumeti Reserve in Serengeti. A safari vehicle and driver guide will be waiting for you upon arrival in Serengeti and will accompany you to Singita Faru Faru Lodge. You will go on a short game drive beside the Grumeti River and plains before being escorted to the reception for a brief safari briefing and to your room to freshen up.
Positioned in front of a waterhole alongside the Grumeti River, Singita Faru Faru Lodge merges rustic appeal with clean-lined modernity in a contemporary wilderness setting. It offers a continuous connection to its stunning surroundings, rich with thriving wildlife.
After having lunch, you will go on your first game drive in the Game Reserve. Singita Grumeti features the famous Great Migration, the annual trek of about 2 million animals through the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem that crosses the reserve. This is also known as the Greatest Wildlife Show on Earth and is the backbone of the wilderness. After the game drive, you will return to Singita Faru Faru Lodge to relax and take advantage of its facilities with breathtaking views. You will have dinner under the starlit skies for an unforgettable evening. Over the next two days, you will explore Singita Serengeti Grumeti and look for Africa's famous Big Five: lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and African buffalo.
Tonight, you will have dinner and evening drinks served by the campfire. It is the perfect opportunity to reflect on your experience over the past few days. Get ready for your departure tomorrow morning.

Beyond expectations! Then again we weren't sure what to expect. Lovely stay at the lodge, met other like-minded travelers (many had their trips planned by Adventure Life) and the owner was a gracious hostess. It felt like you were one happy family, visiting with a favorite aunt.

The response from Adventure Life to my first inquiry was prompt and promising. I worked with Jamie Broeckel, Trip Planner, via text, email, and phone calls- always extremely responsive and thorough with information and explaining the process to arrange a private tour for me to Malaysia Borneo. Within about week, the booking was complete and I made decisions because of Jamie's great customer service , friendly manner, and overall competence on behalf of the company's travel expertise. Now I have an itinerary, additional Trip Planner Assistants, several links for vital information for traveling to Maylasia, etc. Still many details for Sept. trip, but now the heavy lifting is done and I can enjoy the rest of the anticipation and research!! Thanks Jamie- you are amazing!!!!

The trip was not only memorable for the amount of animals we saw but also for the people and accommodations at the two camps where we stayed. Our first guide, BK, was a wealth of information about the animals, landscape and down to the plants and what they were used for. Everyday out was a learning experience with him. All the people at the camps were gracious and the food was excellent.
Our second camp in the Okavanga was just as good as the first as far as the staff, accommodations, food and animals. After our experience at the first camp we amazed that the high quality remained the same. Our guide, G, made sure we were able to enjoy every experience including a rush through the bush to witness a cheetah and an ensuing hunt that he heard over his radio.
In both camps there were enough guides out that if they saw something the other guides were informed which helped in seeing as much as possible. It was also nice that the concessions were large enough that we did not have vehicles following each other throughout the day.
Normally there is always something in a trip of this length that we think could be improved upon but this is the rare case where we cannot think of anything. From the time we left the States to when we returned it was one of the most hassle free vacations we took.
Perhaps emphasizing the use of the laundry facilities at the camps would be useful because of the luggage restrictions would be the only thing I can think of as an improvement to future clients.
