Belize is a pretty small country, making it relatively easy to explore multiple cities in one trip. One of the best ways to get around the country is by using their small domestic airline, Tropic Air. We used this airline for our flights from Belize City to Ambergris Caye and back. After our time at Pook’s Hill we transferred to the airport. Once our driver helped with our bags we said our goodbyes and walked into the very small air conditioned room. I walked up to the counter and a kind lady asked me what flight I was on. I told her that I was on the 12:40 flight to Ambergris Caye. She gave me a very confused look and asked me if I meant the 12:30 flight. I showed her the tickets I had printed and how they said the flight was at 12:40. She looked them over, looked up at me and said, “honey you are at the wrong airport.” My heart dropped. I forgot to mention to our driver that we were flying out of the international airport and not the domestic airport. My driver was already gone and I didn’t have his phone number. It would take too long to call the lodge, but before I had a chance to open my mouth the woman looked at me, smiled and said, “don’t worry about it. You can just get on the 12:30 flight.” She then handed me two boarding passes. I took them and walked over to my husband, Nick, to explain what had happened. In a few short minutes we boarded the flight and were off to the beach. Tropic Air is a wonderful airline and I will forever be grateful that they let me get on that flight. Plus on the way back they let Nick sit in the cockpit just so he could take some pictures out the window. How cool is that?
We had the most incredible trip to Antarctica! Plus, we got a fantastic deal (especially considering how expensive expeditions are) and a free cabin upgrade. Prior to our trip, Michelle and Erin took great care of us and made sure we were good to go. Every element of the trip went smoothly with no surprises. Our ship, Ocean Albatross, was beautiful. The cabin was spacious and had everything we needed. The laundry service was cheap and fast (so there was no need to overpack). The food was great. The atmosphere was comfortable and casual (our style). And best of all, the staff and crew were so kind, accommodating and friendly. The guides and expedition leader were all amazing. We did so many shore landings and zodiac cruises, each one unique. There was no shortage of wildlife! We traveled with our 10 year-old son who had the time of his life. There were several other tweens/teens onboard. The guests were mostly a combination of families and solo travelers, mostly from the US. Overall, our trip was spectacular, a truly unforgettable trip of a lifetime!

I have been working with the wonderful professionals at Adventure Life for many years and keep coming back because of the friendly, courteous, professional expertise I always receive. I've looked for travel agencies here at home but nothing compares to the service I receive with Adventure Life.
