Experience Africa safari the way it used to be with a four-night stay at the luxury Shumba camp on the Busanga Plains. This safari camp in the lesser-visited Kafue National Park gives you an amazing and in-depth look at the wildlife of Zambia and a bush camp experience rarely found elsewhere. Go on game drives and walking safaris in Kafue National Park, spot antelope on the Busanga Plains at sunrise, and get a taste of the breathtaking views of Zambia. These plains offer water-based safari activities early in the season, and fantastic hot-air ballooning later in the drier part of the season. Spot some of the large prides of lion in the area and experience Zambia wildlife with your experienced safari guide.

Fly from Lusaka today into your camp located along the Busanga Plains in the northern part of Kafue National Park, the second largest park in all of Africa. Settle into your safari camp this evening located along the edge of the Busanga Plains. Shumba Camp, which is still a traditional-style Africa safari camp, is one of the most luxurious safari camps on the Busanga Plains and in all of Kafue National Park.
Kafue National Park has remained largely undeveloped due to lack of accessibility compared to other national parks, though it covers the second largest area of any park in Africa. Kafue holds 55 species of mammal and a great range of antelope species, large herds of puku, red lechwe, and smaller groups of blue wildebeest and zebra that congregate around the Busanga Plains around the start of dry season. Spend your days going on game drives with your expert guide. Walking safaris around the Busanga Plains are also a frequent occurrence, with a variety of herds dotting the landscape in the morning hours. Boating on the plains while the water levels are high, and catch-and-release fishing, are also fantastic activities available. Opt for an optional hot-air balloon ride and get an aerial view of the plains from August to October.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
THEY GET BACK TO YOU PROMPTLY WITH ANSWERS TO YOUR CONCERNS OR QUESTIONS.

The Adventure Life staff, for me it's Franny, always listens to what I say about what kind of travel my wife and I want and expect. It never goes wrong. The motto at AL seems to be I will get back to you right away if not sooner. Requested changes and special requests are encouraged and acted on ASAP.
