Day 1: Walvis Bay | Embark

Stand on Namibia’s rugged shoreline where towering desert dunes meet the strong waves of the Atlantic. Begin at Walvis Bay, a sheltered harbor shaped by an ancient river delta and protected by Pelican Point. Watch thousands of migratory birds, including pink flamingos and Cape cormorants. See one of the world’s largest Cape fur seal colonies thriving along the coast, feeding from the nutrient-rich Benguela Current that flows north from Antarctic waters.

Day 2-12: At Sea

Spend your days at sea taking advantage of the ship’s activities and amenities. Stay active in the fitness center or unwind with a spa treatment. Depending on the weather, swim in the pool or relax on deck in the sun. Join lectures, attend live shows, or browse the onboard boutique. Visit the photographers’ studio for tips or keepsakes. Head to the upper deck to watch the ocean and look for passing marine life. This part of the voyage gives you time to balance rest, learning, and entertainment.

Day 13: Dakar | Disembark

  • 1 Breakfast
On the tip of the African continent, the buzzing capital of Senegal stretches along the narrow peninsula of Cape Verde. You may be overwhelmed by its sheer size, but Dakar will win you over with its richly diverse districts, appealing cultural scene, and rich natural surroundings. In the historic center, you'll enjoy the pell-mell of colors and tasty delights in the Kermel market. Far from the effervescence of the city, Gorée Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is known as a place of remembrance, having once been a slave trade outpost. On the other side of the plateau, the wild Madeleine islands are protected by a national park.
