Surrounded by the Chugach mountains, the cabins and main lodge have incredible views to the Knik River valley below. Located about 50 miles from Anchorage, Knik River Lodge offers a unique balance to a remote wilderness lodge and the luxury amenities you expect closer to a city. Raven's Perch Restaurant offers daily meals and gourmet food with an amazing view to spot wildlife. The area is known for diverse wildlife and spotting them around the property is quite common. The area is home to moose, Dall sheep, wolf, lynx, wolverine, and brown and black bear.

Stay in one of 22 private cabins with large decks, private bathrooms and comfortable bedding. Hypo-allergenic duvets, soft sheets and first-class amenities are some of the small touches that make Knik River rustic luxury living. Cabins also offer propane fireplace, full size shower, full kitchenette with fridge, microwave and electric kettle and Keurig coffee maker. Make your Alaska cabin a special retreat for two to three nights while you explore one of the most diverse areas in South-Central Alaska.

Chose from a variety of activities to fill your day, or enjoy lounging around the property and taking in the remote Alaskan wilderness scenery.

Knik River Adventures

During your stay at Knik River, you can opt to participate in a number of guided tours and excursions in the area. Options include hiking, kayaking, rafting and even dog-sled tours in the summer. Glacier landing and helicopter tours are also possible for the adventurous at heart.

Dog Sled Adventures: Drive your own dog-sled team in summer. This Alaska adventure is suitable for the entire family and includes a half hour helicopter ride landing in a snow field. Set out with mushers and dogs to experience a glimpse of the Iditarod yourself. Stand on the runners and mush!

Heli-Glacier Landing: Fly over the icy-blue tones of the glacier and lake before landing for at least 30 minutes on the massive glacier. Get out and explore a bit with your guide before returning. Tours are offered with round-trip transfers from Anchorage in 60, 75, and 90 minute lengths.

Tour Icebergs by Raft or Kayak: Combine a half hour helicopter flight with a guided raft or kayak adventure around massive icebergs in Lake George.

Combine any of these with outdoor overnight glamping experience for a truly remarkable Alaska adventure! Seasonal activities include skiing in winter and fly-fishing in spring. Contact us to customize your tour options.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.
