Day 1 Fly Valdez, Duck Flats Kayak

Take the early morning commercial Ravn air flight to Valdez this morning. Drop your gear off at your hotel and set out for your first paddle this afternoon on Prince William Sound! Enjoy an educational sea kayak tour over calm waters in tandem kayaks. Explore Duck Flats on this 3-hour paddle including land instruction and guided sea kayaking (beginners are welcome). Use this time to get yourself oriented with your balance and maneuvering. The path of the tour follows a small chain of islands known for their nesting birds and sunbathing seals. Paddle in to try and spot bald eagles or ravens. For twice as much paddling, or for a more challenging introduction, upgrade to the Gold Creek kayak excursion.

Day 2 Columbia Glacier Kayak

Set out today for a ten-hour tour on Prince William Sound towards Heather Bay and the must-see Columbia Glacier. After a safety briefing and introduction, you board a 25 passenger boat to taxi out to the bay where your kayak awaits you in calm waters of the Columbia Glacier zone. This region is abundant with wildlife and icebergs. Spend two hours paddling around the bay and up towards the magnificent glacier. Get out and enjoy your lunch on the moraine overlooking the ice field. After your lunch break, paddle back out of the icefield and along the coastline to your rendezvous point. Your water taxi will pick you up to take you back to Valdez this evening.

Day 3 Return Anchorage

Fly back to Anchorage today. If you opt for the evening flight, you can add in another guided paddle or another activity in Valdez this afternoon.

The trip was terrific with great planning on your part. Most of the adventures were not mainstream and somewhat off the beaten path which made it especially enjoyable!! We felt taken care of and you all were readily available to respond to questions and issues. I would highly recommend your company and friends have already expressed interest based on our pictures and excitement.
