Stay in the remote Ultima Thule Lodge located 100 miles from the nearest road in the middle of the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, the largest in the USA. Overlooking the Chitina River, the handcrafted luxurious cabins are uniquely appointed to give guests a simple yet elegant environment for their Alaskan wilderness lodge retreat. Hosting only twelve guests at a time, the staff gives guests a high level of attention. This also allows customization in the wilderness tours and adventures each day.
Ultima Thule Lodge has been owned and operated by the Claus family for three generations. Their children who grew up in these lands are now expert guides and take great pride in showing their visitors the beauty and mystery of the surrounding areas. Each day is customized to each guest's skill level and interests, and guests are taken out with a guide for private adventuring in groups as small as two.
The cabins consist of either one or two bedrooms and offer private facilities, beautiful views to the river below, and cozy private sitting areas. Come and find true remote relaxation and rest for your soul in these charming cabins.
The Main Lodge is equipped as a dining lodge where fresh local ingredients from the garden as well as fresh caught salmon and wild game are used in the lodge cuisine. A cedar sauna and self-spa are available for guests to relax at the end of the day. Some guests even spot the Northern Lights as the sun starts to set later in the season!
