Cross the geographical milestone of the Antarctic Circle with a champagne toast on this 12-day expedition cruise aboard the Polar Pioneer. Observe the extraordinary beauty of this frozen area and the bustling wildlife which call this frozen continent home. Board your ship in Ushuaia and begin a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to the Antarctic Circle threading your way through an intricate system of icy waterways.
Highlights
Explore Antarctica´s pristine wilderness of ice, mountains and waterways
Observe busy penguin parents feeding their chicks and preparing for winter
Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
Step aboard the Polar Pioneer in Ushuaia and settle in to your comfortable cabin. There is time to greet fellow passengers and explore the ship before an evening cruise down the Beagle Channel.
Cross the Drake Passage, accompanied by albatross, petrels, fulmars, and prions. Polar experts speak about Antarctica’s unique wildlife and history and prepare you for landings with environmental and Zodiac briefings. All eyes are peeled for first iceberg, first penguin and first glimpse of land, the mercurial sea stacks outlying the South Shetland Islands.
As you spend time exploring the Antarctic Peninsula, penguin parents get busy feeding their chicks and preparing for winter. Enjoy thrilling Zodiac cruises amongst sparkling icebergs and spot Weddell and leopard seals on icefloe. Heading down south, your ship make its way through ice to cross the Antarctic Circle. As ice conditions dictate your itinerary, you may reach spectacular Crystal Sound and make landings at Stonington and Detaille Islands. Keep an eye out for humpback and minke whales as they come to feed in the channels!
Your ship starts making its way north across the Drake Passage, hopefully rounding Cape Horn on its way to Punta Arenas. Enjoy some free time to exchange photos or watch spectacular sea birds darting around the ship.

This was my first experience with Adventure Life - and I couldn't have been more pleased with the trip. The guides and local staff in both Buenos Aires and Uruguay were terrific - extremely helpful and accommodating. I really enjoyed meeting the friendly staff in Buenos Aires in person (I left my bags with them for the afternoon).

The pre-planning and execution of the plan was excellent. They were even able to help get glasses returned when a member or our party left them in a hotel.

What made our Costa Rica experience great was the wonderful places we stayed and transportation to get to our different areas to visit was excellent! The white water rafting and the snorkeling & dolphin watching were really fun!
