Begin your journey from Copenhagen, located on the islands of Zealand and Amager, at the southern end of The Sound. It is the city's historic center, contains Frederiksstaden, an 18th-century rococo district, home to the royal family’s Amalienborg Palace. Start heading to Ilulissat.
After you start your hike at the old heliport, you will be heading to the UNESCO-area by the wooden trail. Afterward, you will continue your voyage to the ruins of Sermermiut. For over 4,000 years, various groups of Inuit individuals settled in Sermermiut, a place known for the huge amount of wildlife in its terrain, and since the entire area is protected by high hills, this region in Greenland was the perfect place for them to set up a long-term dwelling.
Oqaatsut, formerly Rodebay or Rodebaai, is a settlement in Avannaata municipality, in western Greenland. The modern name of the settlement is Kalaallisut for "Cormorants". The village is served by the communal all-purpose Pilersuisoq store.
Experience a day tour to Oqaatsut by boat. Enjoy a short hiking around Oqaatsut and their lunch pack.
Hike to Sermermiut and Icefjord. Sermermiut is an Inuit settlement in the Disko Bay, Greenland. The location is now part of the Ilulissat Icefjord World Heritage Site. The pre-colonial history of Sermermiut was pieced together by a series of archaeological excavations during the twentieth century. On your way, you will see the stone ruins of the old turf houses, which are located on top of the small hills in the area - all with a view to the icefjord. More than 250 Inuits lived in Sermermiut at its peak, and the last Inuits left the settlement around year 1850.

The trip might have been the absolute best of our lifetime (thus far). We particularly want to commend our guide Peter in the Guilin area-he was so incredibly attentive, energetic, enthusiastic-and absolutely dedicated to ensuring that our meals were 100% vegetarian.
