Monkey River and Manatee Watch
Head out on a 40-minute boat ride through the mangroves and Caribbean Sea to enter the mouth of Monkey River towards Monkey River Village. Your guides specialize in Monkey River tours. Many were born and raised in the Monkey River Village – a small Creole village of about 200 people that sits on the southern banks of the Monkey River. As you head upstream, your guide will point out crocodiles, bats, birds, spiders, snakes, iguanas, and plants along the way. Explore the jungle and mangrove forests and watch for the famous Howler Monkeys high in the trees. You’ll enjoy lunch (included) in Monkey River Village before heading back to Placencia, with a stop to watch for manatees.
Xunantunich and Cave Tubing
A scenic 100-mile drive through the hills of Belize leads to a visit to El Castillo, one of the largest Maya temples in Belize. Explore the site of this ancient Maya village while you learn about the culture and history. Climb to the top of El Castillo to enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Belize and Guatemala and listen to the calls of the howler monkeys in the nearby jungle.
Snorkeling at Silk and Moho Cayes
Your first snorkeling adventure takes place around the entire island of Silk Cayes, where you have the opportunity to snorkel with nurse sharks, sea turtles, and stingrays before enjoying some time exploring the island. After this first adventure, you’ll head to Moho Caye for a freshly cooked lunch (included) prepared by your guides. After lunch, you can continue snorkeling around the beautiful island of Moho Caye or relax on the beach.
Snorkeling and Leisure Fishing
Just a short distance off the coast of Belize, you will find several small, secluded islands. Visit one of these islands and enjoy trolling and bottom fishing from the boat along the way.
