Embark on a week-long small group kayaking trip through Belize's southern barrier reef. You'll receive instructions and safety equipment before paddling over submerged coral reefs and through mangroves at Tobacco Caye. Practice sailing your kayak on the way to South Water Caye. The shallow waters give you an incredible view of a variety of marine life. If that's not close enough, try snorkeling or scuba diving along the inner and outer walls of the barrier reef.

Day 1: Arrive Belize

Arrive at the Belize International Airport for a scenic 20-minute flight to the coastal town of Dangriga. From there, travel by road to Bocawina Rainforest Lodge in the foothills of the Maya Mountains. This boutique lodge, set in the lush 700-acre Bocawina National Park, offers a quintessential tropical rainforest experience. After settling into your cabanas, join your fellow travelers for dinner in the rainforest at the acclaimed Wild Fig Restaurant.

Day 2-4: Glover's Basecamp

After breakfast, travel by chartered boat 38 miles off the coast to Glovers Reef Atoll. We'll check into our fully-equipped tent cabanas, enjoy lunch al fresco, and then receive professional instruction from guides in sea kayaking, SUP, snorkeling, and tropical sea safety before heading out on the water. Explore the atoll by SUP and sea kayak with motorboat support. For the next 3 days you can expect to be pampered by the staff with delicious food and enjoy perfect days with clear turquoise waters, coral reefs, and a full range of activities to choose from each day.

Day 5-6: Tobacco Caye

For the next leg of the adventure, head to the 17,000-acre South Water Caye Marine Reserve on the Southern Barrier Reef. Based at Tobacco Caye Paradise Lodge, your next two-day playground is a fairytale setting of palm trees, coral islands, mangrove forests, and abundant coral reefs. Each evening, back at your lodge, enjoy the friendly, laid-back "island culture" of Belize.

Day 7: Return Home

  • 1 Breakfast
After an early breakfast, your water taxi will take you back to the mainland and the town of Dangriga where the trip finishes. Any extra luggage that you have stored at the operations base will be made available for repacking, and a taxi can be arranged to take you to your connecting flight to the Belize International Airport or to the local bus station to continue exploring Belize.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.
