Explore uninhabited islands, pristine coral reefs, rich fishing grounds, and labyrinth-like mangrove channels by Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) on this small group Belize tour. Ideal for travelers looking for sea, sun, and snorkeling, this itinerary reaches the lesser-known cayes of the Southern Barrier Reef. Navigating Paradise Islands via SUP is the perfect way to explore: a flexible schedule and the path less traveled makes it an adventurous tropical vacation.
Highlights
Snorkel and Paddle through the shallow waters over the reef
View marine wildlife including stingrays, eagle rays, grouper and sharks
Visit a local Garifuna fishing camp on Billy Hawk Caye
Spend a night inland at the Tropical Education Center viewing wildlife
Activities that provide a reasonable level of physical challenge and elevate the heart rate. Focused on more active pursuits including multisport tours. Travelers may be active 5-7 hours total each day. Recommended for travelers with active lifestyles.
On arrival in Belize, you connect for a scenic 20-minute flight south to the coastal town of Dangriga. Here you are met and driven to Bocawina Rainforest Resort. Your guides and group gather for a cocktail followed by a pre-trip welcome meeting and dinner in the dining room. (Domestic Flight included)
This morning we travel by boat charter 38 miles offshore of the mainland to Glovers Reef Atoll basecamp. Your trip leader begins with reviewing fundamental skills of paddle boarding and throughout the trip works with each individual to fine tune existing skills. Efficient forward stroke development, down winding, and touring techniques are all covered. We head out each day to explore the wild beauty of Glover’s Reef; the waters are shallow and clear and you will see a tremendous variety of marine life, including southern stingrays, eagle rays, grouper, nurse sharks, and more.
For the next stage of the adventure we head to the 17,000-acre Southwater Caye Marine Reserve on the Southern Barrier Reef. Based on Tobacco Caye Paradise Lodge, our playground for the next two days is a fairy-tale setting of palm trees, coral islands, mangrove forests and abundant coral reefs. Each evening, back at our lodge, we take in the friendly laid back ‘Island Culture’ of Belize.

Good to ideal period to travel, and many people choose to visit at this time.
Chance for unpredictable weather but with fewer visitors.
We are so glad that we chose Adventure Life. The service is top-notch. Everything is well taken care of and we just have to print the documents and go. Franny even gave us timely updates on possible airport strike.

The holiday of a lifetime. The company is Alaksa-owned and thhat makes a big difference to the experineces you get i.e. meet genuine First Nations tribes people. The amount of wildlife was beyond my expectation, and seeing everything on sucha small, intimate boat made it even more spoecial and unique.

It was an outstanding, up-close, educational vacation of nature, culture, history, animals and geology! It was everything they promised! Binoculars were plentiful on the boat, but I'm glad I brought my own. Food was excellent. Rooms had black-out shades. Pack/wear multiple layers of clothing (I carried a small backpack when off the ship). Crew were delightful and very accommodating! Remember to jump FEET FIRST first when taking the optional polar plunge! Spend as much time outdoors as you are able and ENJOY!!!

Excellent travel advice and service
This is my second experience working with Adventure Life. I’m sold. Jess Heuermann is an experienced traveler and provides a lot of useful information when planning a trip. These are the questions I like to ask at the outset - What’s it like to go here, there, what would you suggest, what do people report, can we add any additional side trips? Jess took the time to answer my questions and seek additional information to share with me. Petchie Colina is outstanding in helping with travel logistics and final preparations. Adventure Life has excellent guides and offers private guides and small group adventures. We enjoyed the opportunity to talk with the guides and drivers to learn more about their countries, cultures and histories. A highlight was having the guides pick local restaurants where we could share meals together. Highly recommend.

Our six-day tour in Iceland went smoothly with one exception. We had asked for two rooms each night. Somehow we were booked with one room with three beds. It could not be fixed at the first hotel in Reykjavik because the hotel was fully booked. Once informed of the problem, however, Adventure Life rebooked for two rooms for the remainder of the trip. As an 85-year-old traveler, I appreciated that one could participate at different physical levels at many of the stops. Iceland is a great place to visit but on the expensive side.
