Torngat Mountains Basecamp

Torngat Mountains Base Camp offers comfortable tent-style accommodations for travelers exploring Torngat Mountains National Park. Located at the head of Saglek Fjord, the camp provides hot meals, washrooms with hot showers, laundry facilities, and kitchen services. Medical staff and supplies are available 24/7, while local Inuit Bear Guards and guides support guest safety and activities. Wi-Fi and satellite phone communication are also available.

Room Specifications
The camp offers two main accommodation types. Design Shelters are soft-wall structures on wooden platforms with electricity and beds with soft feather duvets. They accommodate two to six guests. InterShelters are dome-shaped units with electricity, heating, beds, and bedding for up to two guests. Air conditioning is not provided due to the Arctic climate. Accessibility options should be confirmed with the camp before arrival.

Facilities include hot showers, washrooms, laundry, kitchen areas, hot meals, Wi-Fi, and a basic medical facility. Local Inuit Bear Guards and guides provide safety support, while satellite phone communication is available for emergencies. Helicopter transportation is also provided as part of the base camp operation.

Torngat Mountains Base Camp provides access to guided hikes, Zodiac and boat excursions, wildlife viewing, fishing, and cultural and archaeological sites. Activities may include searching for polar bears, whales, and Arctic char, exploring fjords and valleys, and learning about Labrador Inuit history and culture from local guides.
