Polar Bear Cabins

Polar Bear Cabins is a small, rustic cabin complex on the shores of Hudson Bay in the remote Arctic tundra, in the heart of polar bear country. With no road access, guests arrive by air. An electric fence encloses the complex, and the cabins are built to be polar bear proof, so guests have a safe base for viewing bears in their natural habitat. The layout is simple: four guest cabins surround a central cabin that serves as the dining room, lounge, and kitchen. The property takes no more than 8 guests at a time, so polar bear viewing stays private and small-group.

Rooms & Suites
Each guest cabin has an entryway for storing camera gear and tripods, and a main room with two twin beds, a small laptop table, and space for gear and clothing. The twin beds can be combined into a king bed for couples, and they come with linens, a duvet, a comforter, and pillows. The cabins are heated by propane, and a diesel generator supplies power. Every cabin has its own en-suite washroom with a flush toilet and a propane-heated shower.

Hotel Amenities & Facilities
A central cabin holds the dining room, lounge, and kitchen. It has panoramic windows and a fireplace, and guests gather here for meals. The complex also has a dedicated polar bear viewing cabin. An electric fence surrounds the whole property, so guests can move between cabins safely.
