Excursions and Activities

This excursion starts from the hotel after having breakfast around 9:00 am. The entrance to the park is by Rio Serrano area where it is possible to have a panoramic view of the Cordillera del Paine. There is a two hours walk to Peninsula Lago Grey, where it is possible to observe a great number of icebergs and the glacier at the back. After that there is a visit to the information center where the ecosystems of the park will be explained. The lunch box will be served at Cascada Paine, where it is possible to see and admire the three towers. The final stop will be at Salto Grande (it depends on weather conditions) ending the excursion around 5:00 pm at the hotel. The travelers will have a complete vision of the Torres del Paine National Park.

This excursion to the Torres Del Paine Base is the most popular of all the activities performed in the National Park. A challenge for thousands of visitors who eagerly expect that changing weather conditions in the Patagonia will be favorable, so an unforgettable and unique spectacle may be displayed before their eyes. The huge and splendid granite towers sculptured by the colossal strength of nature forces show their overwhelming beauty. It is a trail with steep incline and decline, so it is necessary to be in good physical condition. Lunch Box, transportation and bilingual guide are included.

Horseback rides can be done in the morning or in the afternoon. Riders will enjoy landscapes of the Paine Mountain range, Donoso Hills, Balmaceda and the union of the Grey and Serrano Rivers, among many other wonderful sights. Admire the singular colors of rivers and catch glimpses of numerous wildlife species. As an outdoor activity, riders will feel the wind of Patagonia, the elegance and the force of the horses bringing the sensation of freedom and the benefit of being in touch with nature. Baqueano guide, protective helmet and the riding leggings are included. All departures are from the hotel stables.

Depart from the hotel and embark on a journey which starts from Balseo Tyndall by the Serrano River in zodiac boats. While crossing it is possible to see Campo de Hielos Sur with its Glaciers Balmaceda, Serrano, Geikie and Tyndall. After about 2 hours of navigation disembark to trek one hour to reach Serrano Glacier. Enjoy a delicious lunch and then the navigate your return back to the park, arriving back at the lodge at approximately 4:30 pm. Or, following the trek continue on a ferry to Estancia Perales where a typical magallanic lunch will be served. Return back to the hotel at approximately 5:30pm.

This moderate hike starts from the hotel near a low hill. In the way observe typical flora and fauna from this area. After about 45 minutes of hiking stop to appreciate the Cordillera Paine, Campo de Hielos Sur and a typical patagonian landscape. Continue on but before reaching the top of the hill see a forest plenty of Lengas and Coigues. Upon summitting find the lagoon and enjoy a snack while relaxing and admiring nature. After a while begin your return trip to the hotel.

Due to the diversity of fishing resources such as Brown Trout, Rainbow and Shinook Salmons, Coho and Atlantic, Cabanas del Paine provides experienced guides and specialized equipment. From the hotel fisherman will have a unique experience to enjoy exclusive daily programs which range in duration from one to five days in length, with options for visiting different fishing resources. Previous experience is not needed.
