This sea kayaking adventure takes place in the heart of Pumalin Park, traveling along the beautiful Quintupeo and Cahuelmó fjords. Travelers will paddle between huge granite walls and waterfalls that plunge into the ocean and see plenty of austral dolphins, sea lions and endemic bird species. Visitors will also enjoy hot spring baths and walks to hidden lakes that very few have visited.
Requires high-intensity physical efforts that push the limits of one's fitness. May include tours with multiple days in a row of strenuous physical activity or single requiring more than 7 hours of activity. Recommended for travelers maintaining a demanding fitness level.
Arrive to Puerto Montt and transfer to Puerto Varas. Enjoy this quaint town this afternoon on your own. In the evening, the group will assemble for a safety briefing with the guides.
Day 2: Llancahue
1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Rising early depart by van along the Carretera Austral and cross the southern end of the Reloncavi Fjord by ferry. At Comau Fjord, you will launch your kayaks and paddle for about 2-3 hours in the relatively protected waters until you reach Llancahue Island and its hot springs. After a relaxing soak and local dinner return to the island's B&B for the night.
Day 3: Quintupeo Fjord
1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
After an early breakfast, you head towards the mainland, paddling towards the narrow entrance of Quintupeo Fjord. This day is a bit of a longer crossing into the heart of Pumalin Park. The fjord has huge granite walls and massive waterfalls that jump from the Andes to the sea. After a picnic lunch, maybe a shower under a waterfall, you gradually make your way to the camp site. Camp is set up at the end of the fjord and dinner is prepared for a relaxing evening.
Day 4: Cahuelmo Fjord
1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Today, you paddle out of the Quintupeo Fjord into the cove of Cahuelmo, approximately 6 hours. Cahuelmo Fjord is a wonderful place with big mountains that rise from the sea and then go inland among narrow valleys. Keep an eye out for a colony of sea lions! At the end of the fjord the Pumalin Project area and the Cahuelmo hotsprings await you for a soak and view of the sunset. After dinner, set up your tent in the rain forest and say goodnight to another amazing day in Patagonia.
After a hearty breakfast, you have a short paddle to a local fisherman who will transport you back to the van transportation. From there you drive along the Reloncavi fjord on the scenic Austral Highway, arriving in Puerto Varas later in the evening.

The trip was terrific with great planning on your part. Most of the adventures were not mainstream and somewhat off the beaten path which made it especially enjoyable!! We felt taken care of and you all were readily available to respond to questions and issues. I would highly recommend your company and friends have already expressed interest based on our pictures and excitement.
We worked with Franny initially and then once we booked we worked with Phen. Franny was very patient and not pushy as we considered our choices. They both got back to us immediately when we had questions.
Expedition cruises are very weather dependent, we knew we were going to see Glaciers, Marine Life, Landscapes but just didn't know when and where. We had some rain, sleet and snow then followed by absolutely beautiful weather. The captain and expedition team were very conscientious for our safety as well as providing us with a fulfilling and educational experience.

Erin and Juliane have been very helpful. The planning has been smooth and stress-free. My concerns and questions have been answered on a timely manner. I was referred to a booking agent for flights that made it easier to plan international and local flights. There's also a Trip Planner website that provides good information as well as a single location for documents related to this trip.

Adventure Life planned a stunner of a trip for our family ONCE AGAIN! This is our 7th trip with Adventure Life. We chose the Chile North to South adventure with add-ons of Magdalena Island to see the penguins; Las Torres hotel in Patagonia; Calafate, Argentina to see the Perito Moreno glacier and finally, Buenos Aires. We were active every day! Biking in vineyards, trekking at 14,000 ft above sea level and seeing vicuña and vizcacha everywhere after having almost the entire El Tatio geyser park to ourselves, an evening tour viewing the stars and galaxies in the Atacama Desert, River Rafting and hiking between volcanoes and glacial lakes in the mountain lake region of Peurto Varas, hiking the French Valley, Las Torres and riding horses in Torres del Paine National Park in Patagonia, walking on the glacier and drinking glacial water and hearing those thunderous booms of ice calving at Perito Moreno in Calafate, Argentina and biking 30 miles through Buenos Aires to the suburbs where we kayaked the Tigre River Delta. So much fun!! I even wore my adult children out!!
