Day 1: Venice, Italy | Embark

The floating city of Venice sits on millions of wooden piles and more than 400 bridges cross 150 canals. No other city possesses such an abundance of stunningly beautiful churches, monasteries, palaces and artistic treasures. Venice is a unique work of art and as such it, along with its lagoon, is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The gateway to the city is probably the most magical of any in the world. Slowly and majestically glide past the proud palaces along the Grand Canal and the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute, permitting a long look at the fairytale setting of St. Mark's Square with the Doge's Palace and Campanile. Explore the city before boarding your ship to begin your adventure.

Day 2: Rovinj, Croatia

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Rovinj lies on the western coast of Istria. The old town was built on a hill and was part of the Republic of Venice for over 500 years. St. Euphemia's Basilica sits above the terra cotta roofs in solitary splendor, and its tower has become the town's landmark. A stroll through the winding lanes transports you straight into the Mediterranean lifestyle and the region's culinary delights: Istrian wines embody the sun's rich heat, the oak forests conceal precious white truffles, and the region's olive oil is among the finest in the world.

Day 3: Hvar, Croatia

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
The charming principal town of the small Dalmatian island of Hvar is picturesquely situated in a sheltered bay. Today, in the same spot where the Venetian fleet used to spend the winter and the proud republic of the Doges bequeathed its influence, yachts from all over the world bob about and transform this hotspot into the "St Tropez of Croatia". From the sea you can see the elegant harbor esplanade, the cathedrals with their distinctive bell towers, the old defensive walls and, towering above everything else, the medieval Spanjola fortress. The winding streets of the old town, with its many cafés, bars and restaurants around the lively main square trodden to a shine, have become a picturesque backdrop for today's sophisticated lifestyle.

Day 4: Korcula, Croatia

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
The Adriatic island of Korcula is one of the greenest in the region. Vineyards and olive groves stretch across rolling hills. The island's main town of the same name is protected by a city wall. It is one of the best-preserved medieval Mediterranean towns. Some buildings evoke the time when the maritime power of Venice ruled. Tintoretto is immortalized in the cathedral, and in one of the narrow streets you can search for the house where, according to legend, Marco Polo once lived.

Day 5: Sibenik, Croatia

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
The port of Sibenik is set in a sheltered bay on the Dalmatian coast in the estuary of the Krka, one of the most impressive waterways in Croatia. In the National Park, just a few kilometers away from Sibenik, the countryside seems both enchanted and savage. Rushing waters cascade down from a limestone plateau into the depths below. The charming old town of Sibenik is impressive, mainly due to the massive Cathedral of St. James, one of the most beautiful Renaissance buildings in the eastern Adriatic and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 6: Zadar, Croatia

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
The city of Zadar is known for the ruins of its old town, which reflect the history of the city under both Roman and Venetian rule. A Forum dating to Roman times lies next to an 11th-century convent, which today houses hundreds of years' worth of religious art. Explore the winding streets of the old town to spot the various preserved Venetian gates scattered throughout the city. Or sit and listen to the sea organ, an architectural instrument and art installation that plays music as the sea waves pass through a series of tubes under a set of marble steps.

Day 7: Trieste, Italy

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Trieste is a unique case: while it does lie within northeastern Italy, many of its residents don't consider themselves fully Italian. Once a Habsburg city, then an independent city-state until its annexation by Italy in 1954, it also lies just a few miles from the Slovenian border. This blend of cultures and colorful history comes to life in the ancient city center, decorated with art in a variety of styles, from Renaissance mosaics to swirling art nouveau arches.

Day 8: Venice, Italy | Disembark

  • 1 Breakfast
Return to Venice. Disembark your ship after breakfast to explore this beloved city before heading home or continuing on your independent travels.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
