4 amigos on a 3 Week South America Trip of a life time!

As a busy mother of 4, I seldom have time to take a step back and focus my attention on anything. We went ziplining, horseback riding, discovered local markets and enjoyed some wonderful food. This 11 day trip with my mom and oldest kids was a gift of shared time and memories we will never forget.

Just returned from an unforgettable couple of weeks in the Amazon -- where Adventure Life is working on a project with the Rainforest Alliance and USAID to strengthen, lend and receive advice from community-owned lodges in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Had the pleasure to spend time with Achuar, Huaorani, Kichwa and Secoya communities.

To dream is to be alive! Ever since I was a little girl I dreamed about visiting the Galapagos Islands. Little did I know, that one day I would achieve that dream, not from Montreal where I was born, but from the Yukon, in northern Canada.

During the Summer of 2009 I promised my grandson that the following summer, after his high school graduation, I'd take him anywhere in the world as long as he was willing to travel with me. He chose the Galapagos Archipelago.

The words \"Adventure Life\" certainly described this hiking tour of Galapagos. Adventures were had from day 1 through the final return. WHAT FUN!! The animals, people and country was amazing...

Following in Charles Darwin's footsteps, I will be traveling to Ecuador, from Quito to the Galapagos Islands. I have my trusty backpack, my water shoes, my guide to Ecuador and of course, my camera. (Can't leave home without it). Buen viaje and vamos!

It’s exciting to fly out of Quito since the city sits in a bowl high in the Andes, surrounded by mountain peaks, with the airport nestled right next to downtown. Soon we were up and over, on our way to our first island in the Galapagos.

I spent a couple weeks touring around Ecuador and the Galapagos with my mom! It was a wonderful experience with all the wildlife and terrain we were able to cover. We saw sea lions on the beaches and tortoise's on the islands. We hiked volcanic craters and explored cathedrals in historic Quito. I will never forget our time together in this …

Jaw dropping flora and fauna in the Galapagos Islands. Spectacular guides with a wealth of knowledge. Amazing photography opportunities. Quite possibly the best vacation I have taken thus far. I highly recommend extending your stay on the mainland of Ecuador to experience the culture too.

Each day I found myself amazed, excited, inspired, humbled, filled with a sense of wonder, or all of these! A fantastic Ecuador vacation to Old City Quito, Sacha Lodge in the Amazon, Otovalo area, and the Galápagos onboard the Millenium.

After months of planning, we were finally underway! Off to the Galapagos and then to Sacha Lodge in the Amazon of Ecuador. I can't tell how great an experience this was for our family. Thank you Adventure-Life!

To say this was an adventure of a life time is an understatement. It wasn't long after the MY Tucano left the dock in Manaus that I spotted my first of many grey dolphins. The Rio Negro was so expansive it looked more like an ocean than a river.

Galapagos Cruise: We had been wanting to go to the Galapagos for years, and I must say, the experience we had did not disappoint.
