Board the ship at 5:00 p.m. and settle into your cabin. Attend a welcome cocktail before dinner to meet the crew. In the evening, join an optional CLASSIC or DISCOVERY coach excursion to explore Porto at night.
CLASSIC: Travel by coach to Porto’s city center for a guided tour. Begin with a visit to St. Francis Church, located near the Douro riverbank and one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Continue to Bolsa Palace (Stock Exchange Palace), a grand neoclassical building in the historic district, and tour its interior. Next, visit an azulejo tile workshop to learn about this traditional Portuguese art form. Return to the ship afterward.
DISCOVERY: Explore Porto by tram and visit the Tram Museum. Afterward, sample local specialties in the historic old city.
In the afternoon, cruise through the Douro Valley and view its dramatic landscapes. In the evening, spend time dancing on board or relax at your leisure while docked in Regua.
Join us on an optional CLASSIC / DISCOVERY excursion: the Casa de Mateus and the Douro museum. We'll leave on foot for the Douro Museum to learn about the passionate history and wine-making heritage in the region, an experience combining traditional and modern approaches. We'll continue on by coach for Mateus Palace, a beautiful 18th-century manor in Vila Real. This baroque-style manor belonged to the same family until a foundation was set up to preserve it in 1970. The dramatic splendor and details of the complex offer a unique visual relationship between geometry and space. Enjoy a stroll through the magnificent tree- and hedge-lined gardens, which include a romantic Mexican-cedar topiary tunnel. After, we’ll return to the ship in Pinhão by coach. In the afternoon, the cruise continues to the heart of the most famous vineyards in Porto to Vega de Terron. We'll arrive in the evening. Enjoy an evening of Flamenco entertainment.

Everything was amazing! The planning with Adventure Life went smoothly. The actual trip was fantastic! One of the best trips I have experienced. The cruise staff members were knowledgeable and attentive. I will be writing more about this on the blog!
