Day 1: Piraeus (Port of Athens), Greece | Embark

Walk through the Agora near the Acropolis, where philosophers such as Plato, Socrates, and Aristotle once debated. Athens, known as the birthplace of democracy, played a central role in the development of western civilization. Piraeus, the port of Athens, is located 15 km from the city center and 45 km from the airport.

Day 2: At sea

Each Star Clippers ship provides a traditional sailing experience. On board, passengers can relax on sun loungers or in one of the pools on the top deck. Those seeking activity can climb the rigging or try steering the ship. The interior offers lounges, a spa on the Royal Clipper, and a library.

Day 3: Fethiye, Türkiye

Surrounded by forested hills and turquoise bays, Fethiye is a vibrant gateway to Türkiye’s Turquoise Coast. The town combines ancient history with a relaxed modern atmosphere, where cafés overlook the marina and life flows at a gentle pace. Passengers can stroll along the waterfront, wander through Paspatur, Fethiye’s old town, with its narrow streets lined with shops, cafés, and small stalls selling textiles, souvenirs, spices, fresh produce, and local handicrafts, or visit the impressive Lycian rock tombs carved into the cliffs above the town. Fethiye is also an ideal starting point for discovery, with nearby highlights such as the abandoned village of Kayaköy, scenic boat trips along the coast, and the world-famous Blue Lagoon of Ölüdeniz.

Day 4: Symi, Greece

One of the most elegant harbors in the Dodecanese, Symi enchants with pastel-colored neoclassical houses rising steeply above the bay. Approaching Symi by sea is like arriving in a painting. Neoclassical houses climb up the hillsides in shades of ochre and blue, while fishing boats sway gently in the harbor below. The pace of life is unhurried: a stroll through the harbor, a swim in clear water, a quiet meal overlooking the bay. Symi’s charm lies in its simplicity, a small island that seems to exist outside of time. For those wishing to explore further, an optional excursion to the Monastery of Panormitis, dedicated to Saint Michael and located on the island’s western coast, is available at an additional cost. Surrounded by cypress trees and sea views, it is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in the Aegean. Peaceful, colorful, and full of grace, Symi is pure Greek beauty.

Day 5: Astypalea, Greece

Shaped like a butterfly in the Aegean Sea, the island of Astypalea remains wonderfully authentic. White houses cascade down from the hilltop castle to the harbor, where life moves at a calm and steady pace. You could explore a secluded beach, wander through quiet streets, or relax in a taverna where the locals are happy to share their stories. The island's tranquil charm invites quiet discovery, from secluded coves and crystal-clear waters to tavernas serving freshly caught seafood and locally produced honey. Astypalea offers a genuine insight into what the Greek islands were like in the past: peaceful, unspoilt and extremely welcoming. It’s a destination that captures the essence of the Aegean, where time seems to drift gently by.

Day 6: Sifnos, Greece

Sifnos, a tranquil jewel in the Aegean Sea, enchants travelers with its harmonious blend of Greek tradition and natural beauty. This Cycladic island is celebrated for its pristine beaches, traditional villages adorned with whitewashed buildings, and a vibrant culinary scene. The island's picturesque churches, winding cobblestone streets, and charming tavernas create an authentic Greek ambiance that's both relaxing and invigorating. Sifnos is renowned for its local cuisine, featuring delectable specialties like chickpea soup and honey-drenched pastries. With its serene beaches and warm hospitality, Sifnos is a perfect destination for those seeking an unspoiled Greek island experience.

Day 7: Monemvasia, Greece

From the shore, it's a big rock sticking out into the sea. Then you pass over the causeway, and through an iron fortress gate, and suddenly, the town of Monemvasia is before you, a perfectly preserved Byzantine fortified port, once 60,000 strong, now home to just a few hundred. You can readily see why the name Monemvasia means single entrance! In the rocky hills above, ancient Byzantine ruins loom over the town, while below a maze of red tiled roofs and twisting alleys hide tavernas and cafes and the home of revered Greek poet Yannis Ritsos.

Day 8: Piraeus (Port of Athens), Greece | Disembark

  • 1 Breakfast
Walking in the shadow of the Acropolis in the Agora, you can almost hear the voices of Plato, Socrates and Aristotle arguing about who was the greatest philosopher. Ancient Athens, the birthplace of democracy and epicenter of western civilization, is a city for all eternity. Piraeus is the port of Athens, just 15km from the city and 45km from the airport.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
