Hótel Reykjavík Saga

Hotel Reykjavík Saga is part of the Íslandshótel group and stands on Lækjargata, one of the historic streets in Reykjavík’s city center. The building was designed to respect the older buildings around it, pairing a modern style with references to Icelandic tradition. The hotel has 130 rooms, with 122 in the main building and 8 in the annex, a newly renovated historic house attached to the main building. Lake Tjörnin, the Reykjavík Art Museum, and the city cathedral are nearby, along with many of downtown’s shops and restaurants. All Íslandshótel hotels hold Green Key certification from the Foundation for Environmental Education, and the group describes itself as the first fully sustainability-certified hotel chain in Iceland.

Rooms & Suites
Room types range from standard double and twin rooms to suites, and the annex holds standard, studio, and family suite options. Every room has a private bathroom with a shower, a smart TV, free Wi-Fi, a telephone, a work desk, a wardrobe, a luggage rack, an in-room safe, a mini cooler, and tea and coffee making facilities. Blackout curtains, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, complimentary toiletries, bathrobes, and slippers are standard in all rooms. Daily housekeeping is available on request. The hotel is wheelchair accessible. The elevator serves the main building only and does not reach the annex.

The hotel has one restaurant and bar, Fröken Reykjavík Kitchen & Bar. It serves Icelandic cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients in an art deco style space. The venue includes a bar, a wine room, a winter garden, and an open kitchen where guests can watch the chefs at work. Breakfast is available. Garðskálinn, a private space at the restaurant, is used for small events and gatherings. The spa and fitness area has a gym, a steam bath, and a dry sauna, and guests also have access to two large roof terraces. Services include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, a tour and ticket service, and cribs and extra beds. Coaches can drop off and pick up guests at the hotel entrance.
